Estimator - (Inter/Senior)
Due to growth and a strong forward workload buidling, an excellent opportunity has become available for an Intermediate to Senior Estimator to join a high-performing Wellington team delivering some of the region's most significant commercial and vertical construction projects.
Working alongside an experienced pre-construction team, you will play a key role in securing future projects, preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, engaging with subcontractors and suppliers, and providing valuable commercial input throughout the bidding process.
About the Role
- Prepare detailed estimates and cost plans for commercial construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop pricing strategies and tender submissions.
- Identify project risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with project managers, commercial teams and senior leadership.
- Assist with value engineering and alternative construction methodologies.
- 5+ years' experience in estimating within the New Zealand construction market.
- Experience pricing commercial, education, healthcare, industrial or large-scale vertical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and market rates.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
- Salary package of $140,000 - $160,000 depending on experience.
