**Date Posted:** 2026-07-31 **Country:** New Zealand **Location:** NZ-CAN-CHRISTCHURCH-115-1 ~ 115 Orchard Rd ~ V2500 WORKSHOP **Position Role Type:** Onsite **About the role** We are seeking a Principal Engineer, Process (Full-time Permanent) provides support, direction and process optimisation guidance while acting as a technical resource to shop personnel to interpret technical data such as Engine Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, IEN's, etc. One-week evening shift (3:45pm-12:15am) per month is required to support scheduled maintenance activities and operational requirements. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible. **Main tasks** + Provides process technical support including work instruction development to ensure methods and processes are compliant and cost effective. + Responsible for all CHCEC processes in relation to your allocated span within the Repair processes for Piece parts (can be in assembled state) for Engine Product or Item Jobs under Designated Service Provider (DSP) + Provide comprehensive technical support and technical data for process Tooling and Equipment, including Optimisation and RPA. + Create and implement part repairs associated to the V2500 & PW1100G-JM engine types with compliance, CHCEC CORE and EH&S requirements at the forefront. + Design, review and approve tooling for repair introductions, including both new design and equivalencies to existing designs. + Take an active role in RTX's continuous improvement CORE program. + Lead Process Certification (Six Sigma), PFMEA and Process Reviews for assigned areas. **What We're Looking for** + NZ LAME or Higher-Level Diploma in a relevant Management or Engineering Field + Experience in data analysis and trend monitoring + Experience in lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement. + Experience within an aero-engine MRO + Understanding of capital acquisition process - knowledge or background. **The Profile We Prefer** + Bachelor's degree in a relevant Management or Engineering Field + Ability to organize many details into a broad view of the total organization. + Experience within an aero-engine MRO, V2500 and/or PW1100G-JM or other engine types + Experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other MRO industry technology and equipment. **Other Skills/ Competencies** + Leads by example - maintains high standards of professionalism + Confident and empathic communicator + Attitude and demeanour portray attributes of being friendly, outgoing, and passionate about what they do + Integrity - having strong internal guiding principles that one does not compromise.
