Working alongside the Infrastructure Manager, you will design, implement, secure, and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure across multiple products and customer environments. You will play a key role in improving reliability, security, automation, and scalability while supporting mission-critical SaaS applications used by customers worldwide.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer with experience in cloud platforms, networking, cybersecurity, automation, and DevOps practices, working closely with engineering, product, support, and customer success teams.
ABOUT VALSOFT CORP:
Established in Canada in 2015, Valsoft has grown to a global portfolio of 120+ companies, acquiring and developing vertical market software companies, enabling each business to deliver the best mission-critical solutions for customers in their respective industries. A key tenet of Valsoft’s philosophy is to invest in well-established businesses and foster an entrepreneurial environment that moulds companies into leaders in their respective industries. Valsoft looks to buy, hold, and create value through long-term partnerships with existing management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Manage and support infrastructure across multiple software products and customer environments.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical SaaS applications.
- Implement infrastructure security best practices, including vulnerability management, access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting tools.
- Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
- Design, maintain, and troubleshoot networking components, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions.
- Partner with Product, Support, and Customer Success teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues and improve customer experience.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new infrastructure technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response for production environments as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps roles.
- Strong experience with Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience managing Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, VPNs, firewalls, and DNS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
- Experience supporting production SaaS environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure or AWS certifications.
- Experience with GitLab, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with cybersecurity, compliance, and monitoring platforms.
- Experience supporting customer-facing software platforms.
WHY JOIN US:
- Join a stable, long-term software group that is built as a permanent home for mission-critical software companies—not a buy-and-sell investment model.
- Work on impactful, real-world infrastructure supporting mission-critical SaaS platforms used by customers across SMB, enterprise, and public sectors.
- Be part of a hands-on engineering culture where you directly influence cloud, on-premises, security, and DevOps architecture decisions.
- Collaborate closely with experienced engineering, product, support, and customer success teams in a highly cross-functional environment.
- Gain exposure to multiple software businesses and environments, offering variety, scale, and continuous technical challenge.
- Leverage shared best practices, tooling, and value-creation resources across a broader ecosystem of software companies.
- Contribute to improving reliability, scalability, security, and automation across diverse and evolving platforms.
- Join a group that prioritizes operational excellence, long-term growth, and sustainable engineering improvements over short-term gains.
