Community Occupational Therapist, Nelson Hospital, Fixed Term Part-time

About the Role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in community-based practice. Previous community experience is preferred, and experience in a rehabilitation setting would be highly advantageous.

As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will bring the following:

  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the inter-disciplinary team.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and experience with complex discharge planning.
  • Complex Housing and Level 1 Wheelchair and Seating accreditation would be advantageous but are not essential.

This is a Fixed Term, part-time role working 44 hours per fortnight (0.55 FTE), Monday to Friday between 8.00AM to 4.30PM.

About you

As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Be a New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate;
  • Hold a current full driver's licence;
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and motivate others;
  • Be an enthusiastic, innovative, and supportive team member;
  • Bring effective time management and organisational skills;
  • Provide clinical oversight and appropriate delegation to kaiāwhina;
  • Supervise and support Occupational Therapy students through mentoring and training opportunities.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
