AI/LLM Engineer
About the Role
We're a fast-growing, Y Combinator–backed B2B SaaS startup building AI-powered automation for sales workflows in distribution and manufacturing. Our platform helps sales teams eliminate manual quoting and order processing by intelligently understanding customer requests, matching products, and integrating with enterprise ERP and CRM systems.
We're looking for an AI/LLM Engineer to join our small, high-velocity team in Munich. You'll own end-to-end AI systems — from data pipelines to deployed agents — and directly shape the product at a critical stage of our growth. Visa sponsorship is available.
What You'll Do
Design, build, deploy, and optimize AI agents across the full stack, end-to-end
Work with embeddings and fine-tune LLMs for classification and reranking tasks
Optimize algorithms for intelligent product search
Apply RLHF and DPO techniques to align LLMs with human feedback
Build and maintain data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently
Contribute to backend scalability, stability, and performance improvements
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
2+ years of software engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, embeddings, ML, and AI agents
Demonstrated experience building and scaling data and ML pipelines, including large-scale unstructured data
Experience with PostgreSQL and vector databases (e.g. Weaviate, Pinecone)
Strong computer science fundamentals
Ability and willingness to work on-site in Munich, Germany
Nice to have:
Full-stack development experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
Hands-on experience with RLHF and DPO for LLM alignment
Location
On-site in Munich, Germany
Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: €90,000 – €200,000 per year, depending on experience
Opportunity to join a well-funded, early-stage team at a pivotal moment of growth
Work on high-impact AI problems in the enterprise software and automation space
