GRADUATES - Come help a robot make people smile.
Casual Robot Companion Facilitator
Have you just graduated? Come help a robot make people smile.
A unique, hands-on opportunity for curious grads who want to build experience in technology, healthcare and human connection.
The opportunity
Looking for a role that is meaningful, genuinely different and a little bit unexpected?
At Andromeda Robotics, you’ll work alongside Abi - Australia’s emotionally intelligent humanoid companion robot - helping bring conversation, creativity and joy to people in aged care and healthcare settings.
This is not a desk-bound graduate role. You’ll be out in aged care homes, meeting people, facilitating activities, learning how emerging technology works in the real world and helping us create better experiences for residents, patients and care teams.
It’s a great fit for recent graduates and curious people early in their careers who want a role while they explore their next career chapter.
We’re hiring for casual roles, ideally for someone who is available from Monday to Friday! The shifts are between 9 am and 5 pm.
About Andromeda Robotics
We’re building the future of human-robot relationships. Abi is an emotionally intelligent humanoid companion robot designed to bring care, conversation and joy to the people who need it most.
Backed by tier-one investors, with customers already deploying Abi across aged care and healthcare, we’re scaling quickly. You’ll join a passionate team that is curious, ambitious and focused on turning an extraordinary idea into a product that makes a real difference.
What you’ll do
As a Robot Companion Facilitator - or, as we like to call it, a Robot Wrangler - you’ll represent Andromeda Robotics and help Abi connect with residents and patients through conversation, games, music and shared experiences.
- Facilitate engaging group sessions with Abi, including games and activities that encourage social connection and cognitive engagement.
- Lead warm, personalised one-on-one interactions with residents and patients.
- Operate Abi confidently and learn how to troubleshoot basic issues. You don’t need to be highly technical — curiosity and a willingness to learn matter more.
- Read the room and adapt activities to suit different needs, abilities, moods and interests.
- Set up and pack down equipment, keep sessions running to time and manage practical session logistics.
- Work closely with care home and healthcare professionals to make each session safe, respectful and enjoyable.
- Capture structured feedback to help us continuously improve Abi and the way our sessions are delivered.
- Represent Andromeda Robotics with warmth, professionalism and energy in every interaction.
What you’ll bring
We’re more interested in your attitude and potential than a long list of previous job titles. You might be a recent graduate, a final-year student, or someone looking for a meaningful change of pace - if you’re enthusiastic, compassionate and confident working with people, we’d love to hear from you.
- Strong people skills and the ability to connect with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Confidence speaking to groups and facilitating activities.
- Energy, warmth and an outgoing personality.
- Genuine curiosity about technology and the confidence to learn by doing.
- Empathy, patience and a strong community focus.
- Adaptability - you’ll be comfortable working in environments where no two sessions are exactly the same.
- A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel to different locations as needed.
Experience or study in psychology, anthropology, social work, caregiving, drama, theatre, education, communications, engineering or public speaking could be helpful, but it isn’t essential.
If you’ve worked in a similar role before, that’s great. If not, don’t worry — we’ll value your enthusiasm, compassion and belief in what we’re trying to achieve.
Our values
- Empathy — Kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do.
- Play — Play sharpens focus. It keeps us curious, fast and obsessed with the craft.
- Never Settle — We bring relentless ambition, bias towards action and uncomfortable levels of curiosity.
- Tenacity — We assume chaos, stay in motion and adapt under pressure.
- Unity — Different minds. Shared mission. No passengers.
The salary for this position may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional benefits or components based on the specific role. Details will be provided if an employment offer is made.
Given this is a casual agreement, the salary will be in the form of an hourly rate.
If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, that’s okay — we encourage you to apply. At Andromeda Robotics, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Let’s build the future together.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
