About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and operating ACC's continuous delivery capability while helping shape the future of DevOps across the organisation. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to DevOps strategy and standards, provide technical leadership across GitHub and CI/CD platforms, influence architecture and engineering direction, and support the development of DevOps capability within ACC. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by enabling secure, reliable and scalable technology solutions that contribute to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The appointing salary for this role is $101,287 - $131,077 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

About you | Mōu

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated success in a senior DevOps engineering role, leading the design, implementation and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code solutions within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong technical expertise across GitHub, Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and modern source control practices.
  • Experience driving DevOps standards, engineering patterns, continuous improvement initiatives and platform capability uplift.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills with a focus on quality, reliability and operational excellence.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments and modern software engineering practices.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification that will be validated as part of the recruitment process.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in organisational settings.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
