Group Financial Controller / Chief Financial Officer
We are an SGX Mainboard-listed manufacturing group with multiple operating entities across Singapore and Malaysia. Our Group is at an important inflection point, with a new Board and management team driving functional transformation to strengthen our systems, controls, management capabilities and platform for future growth.
We are now seeking a hands-on senior finance leader to take ownership of the Group finance function and build lasting organisational capability. This is a high-impact transformation role with direct exposure to the Group CEO, Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
Depending on the successful candidate’s experience, the appointment may be made at either Group Financial Controller or Chief Financial Officer level.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a clear mandate to improve the quality of financial information, implement new systems, strengthen financial discipline and build a capable finance team.
The candidate will take direct ownership of six priorities:
• Group consolidation and timely financial reporting across multiple entities
• Completion of the annual audit and management of external auditors
• SGX, statutory, management and Board reporting
• Implementation of a new ERP and finance systems environment
• Improvement of manufacturing costing, inventory controls and working capital management
• Assessment, restructuring and upgrading of the finance team
The candidate will also be expected to strengthen the monthly closing process and provide management with clearer visibility over margins, cash flow and business performance.
Success in the role will include establishing reliable and timely Group reporting, progressing the ERP implementation, strengthening costing and working capital controls, and building a finance team capable of supporting the Group’s next stage of development.
Qualifications
We are open to:
• An experienced and hands-on CFO from a small or mid-sized organisation
• A strong Group Financial Controller or Finance Director ready to take on a broader CFO-level mandate
The candidate should have:
• Strong Group consolidation, audit and financial reporting experience
• Listed-company experience or meaningful exposure to listed-company reporting, preferably within Singapore
• Experience leading or playing a major role in an ERP or finance systems implementation
• A good understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory and working capital
• Experience managing, restructuring or upgrading a finance team
• A recognised professional accounting qualification
Manufacturing or another operationally intensive industry background is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate must be practical, resilient, quick to learn and willing to work through detailed accounting, systems and operational matters personally. This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building stronger processes and taking clear ownership of delivery.
This role is based in Singapore, and candidates must be immediately available or able to commence within one month.
The initial appointment will be for 12 months. There may be an opportunity for extension or a longer-term appointment, subject to performance, business requirements and mutual fit.
