Product Designer
Description
The construction industry is facing a severe labor shortage. The industry is at an inflection point where they must reimagine talent and modernize their people strategy. Bridgit is the category leader for workforce planning and working with the largest and most sophisticated US general contractors. Although we have continued to gain traction since launching in 2019, there is significant opportunity ahead as we continue to innovate and broaden our offering.
What You Will Do Do
As a Product Designer at Bridgit, you will own the design experience across one or more product streams and work closely with product managers and engineering to conceive, define, and ship high-quality product experiences. You will play a central role in shaping the future of Bridgit and increasingly, how AI surfaces insights and takes action on behalf of our users.
- Own end-to-end design for your product stream, from early-stage problem framing through detailed UI execution and post-launch iteration
- Design AI-powered experiences thoughtfully including conversational interfaces, AI-generated insights and agent interactions that build trust and feel natural to construction users
- Translate complex workflows and data-heavy domains into clear, intuitive interfaces that reduce cognitive load and drive meaningful action
- Lead discovery and research activities including interviews, usability tests, workflow mapping, to develop a deep understanding of how construction professionals think, plan, and work
- Collaborate with product and engineering partners to shape product direction, contribute to roadmap decisions, iterate based on technical feasibility and monitor through execution
- Build and contribute to a shared design system that ensures visual consistency and accelerates the team's velocity
- Use data and analytics to validate design decisions, identify friction points, and measure the impact of shipped experiences
- Become a deep expert on Bridgit, understanding the data, workflows, and mental models that define our users' day-to-day
Who you are
- 3+ years of product design experience in a web-based SaaS environment, working within an agile team alongside engineers and product managers
- A compelling portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end design ownership — from research and problem framing through to polished, shipped UI
- Proven experience with AI-powered products, you've shipped features where AI plays an active role and can speak confidently to the design challenges that come with it: setting user expectations, handling uncertainty gracefully, and keeping humans in control
- Fluency with complex, data-dense products, you know how to take information-heavy workflows and make them feel clear, structured, and actionable
- A systems thinker who considers how individual design decisions ripple across flows, edge cases, and the broader product experience
- A collaborative, low-ego approach, you share work early, welcome critique, and treat iteration as part of the process, not a setback
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to engineers, PMs, and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity, you thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and not every problem comes with a clear brief
