Are you a finance professional with a strong background in bank reconciliations and cash posting, looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a growing technology business?

ClearCourse is looking for an Accounts Associate to join our Shared Service Centre (SSC) Finance team in Manchester City Centre.

This is a varied role within our Record to Report (RTR) function, with a particular focus on daily bank reconciliations and cash posting, alongside intercompany accounting, billing and settlements.

You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in improving how we work, helping us standardise processes and make better use of technology and AI to reduce manual tasks across the finance team.

About ClearCourse

ClearCourse is a rapidly growing group of innovative technology businesses, providing software and integrated payment solutions to customers across a wide range of industries.

Since launching in 2018, we’ve brought together a portfolio of market-leading software businesses across the UK, supported by our integrated payments platform, ClearAccept.

Today, we’re more than 900 people strong, working across offices and remotely throughout the UK.

Working better together is at the heart of ClearCourse. By bringing together great businesses, products and people, we’re able to share expertise, technology and ideas while continuing to invest in the growth of our businesses and our people.

The Role

Reporting to the RTR Process Lead, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of our Record to Report processes.

A key part of your role will be ensuring our bank accounts are accurately reconciled, cash is correctly posted and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved. You’ll also support our intercompany accounting processes, including billing, recharges and settlements across the ClearCourse group.

Alongside your core accounting responsibilities, you’ll help document and improve our finance processes, administer account reconciliations through BlackLine and explore how tools such as AI and automation can make our processes more efficient.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Completing daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and ensuring transactions are accurately matched
  • Posting cash accurately and investigating any unreconciled or unmatched transactions
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to resolve reconciliation queries and outstanding items
  • Supporting month-end close by ensuring bank reconciliations are completed and signed off within agreed deadlines

  • Administering account reconciliations within BlackLine, including assignments, workflows and certification
  • Supporting colleagues with BlackLine queries and troubleshooting
  • Using AI and automation tools, including Claude and Copilot, to reduce repetitive manual work and improve efficiency
  • Supporting the wider RTR team with continuous improvement initiatives

We’re looking for someone with hands-on finance experience who enjoys working with detail, solving problems and taking ownership of their work.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience working within a finance or accounting role
  • Practical experience completingbank reconciliations and cash posting
  • Experience with intercompany accounting, billing, recharges or settlements
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to investigate discrepancies and see issues through to resolution
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across a business
  • An interest in using technology and AI tools to make finance processes more efficient
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

It would be great, but isn't essential, if you also have:

  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Xero or Sage
  • An AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or you're currently studying towards one
  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commission
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

  • Private medical cover
  • Health cash plan
  • Life assurance
