Our Talent team is already in election preparation mode ensuring our experiences, documentation and process are as flexible, timely and are personalised as possible. During election our work significantly increases, hence this fixed term opportunity. You will keep high-volume recruitment activity moving, support hiring managers, care for candidates, manage key processes and systems, and help deliver a seamless recruitment experience across Parliamentary Service.

Te tūranga | The role:

As a Talent Adviser for election 2026, you will help support the people engine behind New Zealand’s democracy. Parliamentary Service provides essential services to Members of Parliament, stakeholders and the public, and works closely with the Office of the Clerk to support the House and its committees. Ngā haepapa | What you’ll be doing:

Most importantly, you care about people. You understand that recruitment is not just a process, it is an experience. You bring strong candidate care, excellent communication, sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to build trusted relationships with candidates, hiring managers and stakeholders. Here’s some of the activities you’ll get involved in;

· Process recruitment requests at high volume.

· Deliver excellent candidate management and a seamless candidate experience.

· Undertake job briefings/profiling and write up to date and tailored job adverts where needed.

· Develop and update position descriptions (PDs) and save them in the correct location.

· Advertise vacancies on the right platforms at the right time.

· Screening candidates e.g., longlist, shortlist for hiring manager.

· Undertake pre-employment checks e.g., Ministry of Justice, Xref.

You will thrive here if you enjoy pace, variety and purpose. You are highly organised, systems savvy, comfortable juggling multiple recruitment processes, and able to balance urgency with accuracy. You do not get flustered when priorities shift. You lean into ambiguity, use initiative, and know how to keep things moving when the path is not perfectly straight.

You will bring the organisation and attention to detail of an outstanding Talent Coordinator, with the confidence and capability of a Talent Adviser responsibilities when needed. One day you may be scheduling interviews, managing documentation, processing checks or updating stakeholders. The next, you may be screening candidates, maintaining job control, building relationships or helping hiring managers make confident decisions.

The salary range for this role is $74,183 - $81,904 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note, the full salary range extends beyond this point).
