Principal Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace MRO)
Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize manufacturing and repair processes for aerospace engine/component overhaul operations.
- Serve as the technical authority for assigned production areas, ensuring manufacturing methods consistently meet quality, safety, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Investigate and resolve complex manufacturing and process-related issues involving machining, welding, coating, balancing, inspection, and component repair.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, production readiness, and implementation of new manufacturing capabilities.
- Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation, technical work instructions, tooling, and process standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to improve operational performance.
- Support quality investigations, process capability studies, FAIR, MSA, and compliance with aerospace industry standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft engine MRO, precision machining, or component repair engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, coating, inspection, or precision repair.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as NADCAP, FAIR, MSA, or equivalent manufacturing quality standards is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
