Data Protection Manager (m/f/d)
🎤 Why voize? Because we’re more than just a job!
At voize, we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is lost to busywork and complex systems that pull them away from what matters most: people.
Our vision is to change that by building AI companions that seamlessly take over digital workflows. We don’t replace humans with technology - we amplify their impact.
Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other leading VCs. Today, 2,000+ facilities trust voize, and over 200,000 users rely on our AI companion to ease their daily workload.
As a dynamic team, we combine first-in-class technology with meaningful social impact. And now, we’re looking for you to join us on this mission!
💡 Your Mission: Delight customers, optimize processes!
As Data Protection Manager (m/w/d), you own data protection at voize end-to-end: answering customer and DPO questions quickly, maintaining the GDPR foundation behind those answers, and shaping how a fast-growing AI company handles sensitive data responsibly.
🚀 Your Daily Business - No two days are alike
You own incoming data protection inquiries from customers and their data protection officers end-to-end. From broad questionnaires to very specific questions.
You maintain our internal GDPR foundation: retention periods, records of processing activities, technical and organizational measures - and you make sure they are actually implemented together with the teams that own the tools
You keep an up-to-date picture of how customer data flows through our product, working closely with our tech leads
You review vendor contracts and data processing agreements (DPA/AVV) and support the negotiations
You maintain the data protection documentation in our trust center and act as our main interface to our external DPO
🤝 Your Skillset - What you bring to the table
Hands-on data protection experience with a clear GDPR specialization
Experience in a modern SaaS environment, including products that use AI, and the confidence to assess and structure the compliant use of international sub-processors instead of ruling them out
A solid grasp of how data flows through a software product, and the curiosity to keep that picture current
Structured thinking: you build processes and policies, and you see how data protection connects to information security, quality and regulatory topics rather than treating it as a silo
A pragmatic, creative approach: you find the compliant path, explain it clearly and enjoy hands-on ownership in a fast-changing environment
Business-fluent English (German is a plus)
🌱 Growing together - what you can expect at voize
We are a fast-growing startup, that means you will tackle challenges, grow quickly, and make a real impact, giving frontline workers more time for people
We foster an open, collaborative culture with regular team events, whether you work from our Berlin office or remotely across Germany
Become a co-creator of our success with stock options
Generous perks: 30 vacation days plus your birthday off, Germany Transport Ticket, Urban Sports Club, regular company off-sites, and access to learning platforms such as Blinkist and Audible, plus free language courses
You decide when you work best, that means flexible working hours and a good hybrid set-up.
✨ Ready to talk? Apply now! 🚀
We look forward to your application and can’t wait to meet you - no matter who you are or what background you have!
