Facilities Manager
At Highland Spring, our Engineering and Facilities teams play a vital role in making sure our sites operate safely, efficiently and reliably every day. We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the strategic and operational management of our facilities, buildings and services at The Ochils in Blackford, Perthshire.
This is a full time, on-site role where you’ll have a real opportunity to shape how our facilities are managed and developed. You’ll ensure the site remains safe, compliant and fit for the future, while supporting our production needs and wider business growth.
In this varied role, you’ll oversee everything from statutory compliance, utilities and maintenance through to facilities strategy, sustainability initiatives and major site upgrades. You’ll work closely with colleagues, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies to make sure our facilities operate to the highest standards.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of facilities management across The Ochils, balancing long-term planning with the day-to-day needs of a busy manufacturing site.
You will:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and maintain all required statutory documentation.
- Lead facilities-related audits, inspections and regulatory visits, making sure any actions are completed.
- Manage safe systems of work and permit-to-work processes and help maintain relevant ISO standards.
- Develop and implement a facilities strategy aligned with our operational goals and future growth.
- Build and maintain a long-term facilities upgrade roadmap, helping improve site resilience, safety and compliance.
- Lead energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Manage critical utilities including HVAC, compressed air, power, water and waste.
- Plan and deliver capital projects, refurbishments and site upgrades.
- Help ensure our manufacturing infrastructure is fully supported and downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Manage third-party contractors and suppliers, ensuring the right standards of service, safety and compliance are maintained.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency and accountability.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager who is equally comfortable developing a long term strategy and getting involved in the operational detail when needed.
You’ll bring strong knowledge of health and safety, building and environmental regulations, alongside experience managing compliance, audits and regulatory inspections.
You’ll also have:
- 7–10 years’ experience in facilities management, including at least 3 years within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong project management experience, particularly around facilities upgrades and capital projects.
- Experience developing facilities improvement plans and delivering major projects.
- The ability to manage budgets and identify cost savings without compromising service or quality.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight.
- Experience of sustainability initiatives and energy management would be an advantage.
- Professional qualifications such as IWFM, NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes ownership, works collaboratively and has the confidence to make decisions in a busy operational environment. You’ll care about maintaining high standards and creating facilities that are safe, reliable and ready to support the future of the business.
What you can expect
You’ll join a values led business where teamwork matters and where you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on one of our key manufacturing sites.
At Highland Spring, we’re a team, we’re proud and we care. We hold ourselves accountable, communicate clearly, support the people around us and take pride in the quality of what we deliver.
Your benefits will include:
- A competitive salary, individual private medical insurance and bonus.
- 34 days’ holiday per year, inclusive of the Christmas and New Year public holidays.
- Company pension with a 5% employer contribution, rising to 10%.
- Life assurance of 3 x annual salary, subject to criteria.
- Access to our Employee Assistance Platform, providing 24/7 confidential emotional, practical and financial support.
- Company sick pay following your first six months of employment, subject to the scheme terms.
If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can combine your facilities expertise, project management skills and strategic thinking to make a real difference,we’d love to hear from you.
