Job Purpose:

The New Business Lead Generator is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers within the care sector to create new business opportunities for Berwick Care. Acting as the first point of contact for potential customers, the role proactively generates interest in Berwick Care's products and services, develops relationships with decision-makers, and secures qualified appointments for the sales team.

 

The role is vital in supporting Berwick Care's continued growth by maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities and helping more care providers access the products and solutions they need to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Accountabilities:

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and research prospective customers across the care sector, including care homes, nursing homes, supported living providers, and healthcare organisations.
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through telephone outreach, email campaigns, LinkedIn networking, referrals, industry events, and other lead generation channels.
  • Build awareness of the Berwick Care brand and value proposition amongst prospective customers.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential opportunities to support sales growth targets.

Lead Qualification & Relationship Building

  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their operational needs, challenges, and purchasing requirements.
  • Qualify opportunities against agreed criteria to ensure alignment with Berwick Care's products and services.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within the care sector.
  • Accurately capture prospect information and customer insights within NetSuite CRM.

Appointment Setting & Opportunity Handover

  • Arrange high-quality discovery meetings for the Business Development and Sales Teams.
  • Ensure all relevant information is collected and transferred to support a seamless customer experience.
  • Work closely with colleagues to maximise conversion of opportunities into long-term customer relationships.

CRM & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed records of all prospect interactions within NetSuite.
  • Effectively manage personal territory and pipeline to maximise lead generation activity and productivity.
  • Monitor progress against agreed individual targets and KPIs.

Marketing & Industry Engagement

  • Follow up on inbound enquiries generated through marketing campaigns and digital activity.
  • Support marketing initiatives by providing prospect feedback and market intelligence.
  • Attend exhibitions, conferences, networking events, and customer visits as required to generate new opportunities and promote Berwick Care.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop a strong understanding of Berwick Care's product range, services, customer base, and market position.
  • Maintain awareness of developments and challenges within the health and social care sector.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve lead generation processes, customer engagement, and business development activities.

 

Skills, Training and Knowledge Required

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish credibility with prospective customers.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Experience in lead generation, business development, sales, customer service, or account management.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs.
  • Ability to professionally manage objections and rejection.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the challenges and regulatory environment within health and social care.
  • Experience working within the healthcare, care home, medical supplies, or social care sectors.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools.
  • Understanding of consultative selling and lead qualification techniques.
  • Experience attending industry exhibitions and networking events.
  • Sales or business development qualifications.
