Finance Operations Administrator
Location: Cambridge, UK. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days a week at our office. Applicants should be based (or willing to relocate) within a comfortable commuting distance of the office.
Want a finance role where you learn the systems as well as the numbers?
Jagex Finance is replacing its core systems, and we need a Finance Assistant who can keep the day job running brilliantly while that change lands. Sitting in Finance Operations, you will own a genuine slice of our transactional processing, financial controls and month-end activity, and help shape the processes the team will run on for years. A rare chance to build finance operations depth and hands-on ERP experience at once, on a system you helped implement rather than one you inherited.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own key finance operations processes end to end, resolving Accounts Payable automation exceptions and running our Finance shared mailboxes (Expenses, Accounts Payable, Coding and general Finance queries), so invoices are coded and paid accurately and the wider business gets fast, clear answers rather than chasing Finance.
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating reconciling items so our numbers are accurate, supported and ready for month-end deadlines.
- Support the month-end close by delivering recurring processes and maintaining supporting schedules, directly shaping how quickly and confidently the business gets its financial information.
- Complete daily cash matching, monthly bank reconciliations and Payment Service Provider reconciliations (PayPal, Adyen), resolving variances so cash reporting is trusted and treasury decisions rest on solid data.
- Prepare and raise ad hoc customer invoices and royalty statements, and upload authorised payment files to banking platforms in line with our approved controls and governance.
- Support the NetSuite implementation by completing User Acceptance Testing, documenting results, helping deliver user training and answering queries through go-live, so the system actually works for the people using it.
- Maintain finance system master data and administration, including Chart of Accounts, GL codes, departments, classes, user access, workflows and period open and close, keeping our control environment tight as the system evolves.
- Provide audit evidence for interim and year-end audits, keep process documentation current, and spot opportunities to automate and improve how Finance works, making the team more efficient and accurate as it scales.
What we’re looking for:
- AAT qualified, studying towards an accounting qualification, or qualified by experience.
- Demonstrable experience in a Finance Operations, Finance Administration or Assistant Accountant role.
- Practical experience using an ERP system, with NetSuite experience a real advantage.
- Proven experience supporting month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including lookups, pivot tables and data analysis.
- A proactive, continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to build effective working relationships across Finance and the wider business and to work independently as part of a collaborative team.
What we offer:
When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including:
- Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
- Discretionary annual performance bonus.
- Minimum 6% Pension contributions.
- Life Insurance.
- Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
- Flexible working hours.
- 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays & the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!
