
Manager, Work-Integrated Learning Hub
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is seeking a Manager, Work-Integrated Learning Hub to lead the new central Akura ' Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Hub within the Office of the Tumu Maruānuku - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). This permanent, full-time role provides strategic and operational leadership for WIL initiatives across the University.
The WIL Hub will provide a central point of expertise, coordination and capability development to ensure WIL activity is scalable, compliant and aligned with institutional priorities. You will lead the implementation of a hub-and-spoke model for WIL, working closely with faculties, course staff, central support units, students and external partners.

Key responsibilities: * Lead the development and implementation of the WIL Hub strategy, reporting and governance. * Manage the WIL Hub team. * Create University-wide understanding and visibility of WIL activities. * Provide institutional leadership on WIL policy, frameworks, best practice and capability development. * Build strong working relationships with faculties, course staff, central support units, student groups, external partners and sector bodies. * Lead initiatives that support the integration of WIL into curriculum and build staff confidence in designing and delivering high-quality WIL experiences. * Act as a central point of coordination for engagement with industry, government, community and other external partners. * Oversee WIL-related systems and processes, including placement management systems such as InPlace. * Work with other teams to support compliant, safe and quality-assured WIL activity. * Scale and strengthen WIL across the University.Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be a strategic, collaborative and solutions-focused leader with significant experience in Work-Integrated Learning, curriculum innovation, partnership-based education or a related area. You will be confident working across organisational boundaries and able to bring people together to deliver coordinated, high-quality outcomes. You will have strong leadership skills and also bring excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive practice.
Key requirements: * Significant experience in Work-Integrated Learning, curriculum innovation and/or partnership-based education. * Proven leadership in the strategic and operational management of complex programmes or services. * Experience building, developing and leading high-performing teams. * Understanding of curriculum design, student learning and employability frameworks. * Sound knowledge of best practice in WIL administration. * Proven ability to build and sustain effective internal and external partnerships. * Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. * A relevant tertiary qualification. * Experience working in a tertiary education environment is highly desirable.Role Description: Click here to see further information, including salary details.
