💚 Reporting to Senior Full Stack Engineer

Blink connects frontline workers with the people, information and tools they need to do their jobs. Companies including McDonald’s, easyJet, Domino’s and JD Sports trust us to connect their teams and deliver a seamless employee experience.

We’re looking for full-stack developers to join our Rapid Delivery team. The work includes 3rd line support, building features for customers and internal teams, and creating tools that help Product Support handle more themselves.

We want people who are comfortable shifting gears, enjoy working across the stack and want to keep growing as full-stack engineers.

You’ll work mainly with TypeScript, React and Node, with opportunities to contribute to Java, Scala, iOS and Android as you grow across the stack.

You do not need to be an expert in everything, but you should be adaptable and comfortable stepping outside your usual area. You should also be happy working with customers when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain full-stack applications, integrations and internal tools using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Express and SQL, while also contributing to Java, Scala, iOS and Android.
  • Work closely with Product Support to build tools that help them resolve more issues quickly and independently.
  • Investigate and resolve complex 3rd line support issues across the platform.
  • Identify ways to improve our processes, practices and tooling, with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide clear technical guidance across the company and work directly with customers when needed to understand and solve problems.

🚀 About you

You’re comfortable picking up new problems, moving quickly and working out what needs to happen next. You can switch between product work, integrations, support issues and customer-facing problems without losing momentum.

You’ll bring:

Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Express and SQL.

Experience working with a statically typed backend language such as Java or Scala, and an interest in contributing to native iOS and Android.

Strong investigation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to get to the root of complex issues across different systems.

The ability to learn on the job, work independently and ask the right questions when moving into unfamiliar areas.

A track record of writing clean, testable and maintainable code, while improving the codebase around you.

Clear communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non-technical people, including customers when needed.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Grafana and other monitoring tools.
  • Experience with SAML, SSO, SCIM or identity and access management.

When applying, please mention the word 'customer' in your application.

💚 Why Blink?

You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large-scale, and meaningful. Most importantly, you’ll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start-ups can only dream of!

Benefits include:

  • Employee stock options on starting and additional high performer grants annually, ensuring everyone shares in the value we’re creating.
  • 25 days’ leave + public holidays.
  • Additional time off between Christmas and New Year.
  • Private healthcare with AXA.
  • 3% employer pension contribution when you contribute 5%.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Social events (lunches, breakfasts, nights out).
  • Enhanced parental leave.

At Blink, we're committed to creating an inclusive and diverse culture where our people feel they truly belong. We value and respect individual differences, so all applications will receive fair and equal consideration without regard to ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, nationality, disability or age.
