Financial Operations Associate

Job Description:The Financial Operations Associate provides comprehensive operational and business support across Disney Cruise Line. This role partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve financial inquiries accurately and efficiently, including escalations from Shoreside Guest Services and other key business partners that support timely guest recovery. As a subject matter expert, the Financial Operations Associate provides guidance on financial transactions, policies, and processes while promoting operational excellence, compliance, and a high standard of service.
You Will:- Serve as a subject matter expert for pre-arrival and post-departure financial escalations involving guest and travel agent reservations.
- Review and process incoming wire transfers, checks, and credit card payments accurately and promptly.
- Analyze, reconcile, and resolve items identified in daily and weekly reports in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
- Apply alternative forms of payment to Disney Cruise Line bookings, including credits, coupons, and intracompany general ledger payments.
- Create and maintain travel agency accounts in accordance with applicable tax requirements and company procedures.
- Process pre-arrival and post-departure charges and refunds in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Reconcile post-departure voyage reports and investigate discrepancies.
- Complete voyage balancing and voyage termination activities following each sailing.
- Provide financial guidance to internal and external partners, including support with interpreting transactions, policies, and account activity.
- Review and process refund requests received through Guest Communications.
- Prepare and process month-end journal entries and accruals, as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and streamline manual activities.
- Manage financial operations for group bookings, including invoice preparation, groups accounts closing, and account reconciliation upon voyage completion.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities assigned by leadership.
- At least two years of experience in financial operations, accounting operations, or office administration involving comparable responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
- Experience with automation, dashboards, data analysis, and data visualization.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong relationship-building, partnership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work proactively and independently while collaborating effectively as a dependable team partner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
- Ability to adapt effectively to organizational change, process improvements, and system upgrades.
- A continuous-improvement mindset, with a demonstrated interest in simplifying processes and reducing manual effort.
- Resourcefulness, sound judgment, and the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Experience with SAP, Seaware, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Disney Cruise Line policies, procedures, and reservation processes.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related discipline, such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
