Marketing Manager. Events and Sponsorship Marketing Backgrounds Preferred
Salary: Up to £48,000 + 6% employer pension contribution
Location: Bankside, London SE1 | Hybrid working. 2 or 3 days in the office
Are you an experienced marketer looking for a role where you can take real ownership, shape strategy and see the impact of your work?
We’re recruiting a Marketing Manager to join a leading professional membership organisation with 6,500 members across England and Wales. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to lead campaigns, grow membership, develop digital marketing, manage a high-profile awards programme and build valuable commercial partnerships.
Working closely with the Head of Membership Marketing, you’ll play a key role in attracting new members, increasing engagement and retention, and promoting an established portfolio of training, publications, conferences, events and other member services.
The role
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, commercially minded marketer who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering campaigns to attract new members, improve onboarding and increase member engagement and retention.
- Leading the marketing of products, services and membership benefits across a mix of digital and offline channels.
- Representing the organisation at regional and external events, promoting membership and services to new audiences.
- Leading and growing the organisation’s annual member awards programme, overseeing everything from nominations and judging through to sponsorship and the gala awards evening.
- Identifying, securing and managing sponsors and exhibitors for conferences and events.
- Taking ownership of brand stewardship, maintaining brand and style guidelines and working with external designers to produce engaging online and print collateral.
- Developing the organisation’s presence across LinkedIn, X and Instagram, alongside using the website effectively as a marketing channel.
- Making greater use of CRM and email marketing, including developing automated email journeys to support engagement and promote products and services.
- Supporting the development of partnerships with other organisations to create new promotional and commercial opportunities.
About you
You’ll be an experienced marketing professional who is comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders and can demonstrate a track record of delivering successful marketing activity.
You’ll bring:
- Experience of developing and implementing successful marketing plans and campaigns.
- Strong project management skills and experience handling complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Practical experience using CRM and email marketing tools to promote products or services.
- Commercial awareness, including experience of attracting and managing sponsorship income.
- Experience across a broad range of channels, including websites and social media.
- Experience of brand management/stewardship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong marketing copywriting.
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, members and external partners.
- The confidence to present to different audiences, establish credibility and inspire others.
Experience within a membership organisation would be particularly valuable. Experience running a major awards programme, working with MS Dynamics CRM and ClickDimensions, managing volunteers, using WordPress or a similar CMS, building an Instagram presence, developing external partnerships and understanding data protection requirements would also be advantageous.
Why join?
You’ll be joining a friendly, welcoming team of around 25 people with an ambitious, collaborative culture and a hybrid approach to working.
Alongside a salary of up to £48,000, the package includes:
- 6% employer pension contribution
- A generous annual leave allowance of up to 30 days
- Additional leave over Christmas and New Year
- Regular paid-for social events
- Hybrid working
- A fantastic Bankside location, close to Borough Market and the South Bank
If you’re an energetic and entrepreneurial marketer who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships and delivering campaigns that make a tangible difference, this is an opportunity to join a growing organisation with big ambitions and a strong sense of purpose.
Candidates need to come from a memebrshiop background and have a proven track record of delivering high-standard events of varying sizes. CRM, CMS, and email marketing campaign design are also must-haves.
