
Registered Psychologist - Field Based

At PeopleSense by Altius, we support our customers and their people at some of the most challenging moments in their lives including after workplace trauma, critical incidents, and unexpected events.
We are expanding our Onsite support and Critical Incident Response (CIR) capability and are looking for a Registered Psychologist who is calm under pressure, values meaningful work, and wants to develop expertise in trauma-informed intervention. Additionally, we’re seeking someone who is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with regular travel, including overnight stays, flights, and work across regional locations.
This is not a standard therapy role.
This is about being there when it counts.
Your new role
As a Field Based Psychologist you will provide immediate psychological support to workplaces following distressing or traumatic events.
You’ll be part of a highly supported, specialist team, delivering:
- Psychological first aid (onsite and via telehealth) following critical incidents
- Individual and group support focused on stabilisation and recovery
- Practical guidance to managers navigating complex workplace situations
- Follow-up care and continuity planning for impacted employees
- Group psychoeducation sessions on reactions to trauma, loss and stress.
Alongside onsite and CIR work, you may also contribute to:
- EAP counselling
- Wellbeing initiatives
- Occasional assessment work
About You
You might be a great fit if you are:
- A psychologist registered with AHPRA (General Registration), with no conditions or reprimands. Provisional psychologist’s nearing General Registration may be considered.
- Comfortable working with trauma, distress, or acute presentations
- Able to stay grounded and communicate clearly under pressure
- Comfortable delivering pre-prepared psychoeducation presentations to large groups.
- Able to work in remote, regional locations via flights or driving, often requiring overnight stay.
You must also hold:
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check
- Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
