At Glenveagh, we’re proud to build homes and support communities.

And we build strong teams that enable us to do that.

As the first construction company in Ireland to be accredited with the Gold Investors in Diversity mark, we create a workplace where everyone feels supported, and able to grow their career. We’re looking for people who want to play their part in delivering homes to individuals and families, and all while availing of great benefits and the opportunity for long term career development.

The Design Coordinator (MMC) will report to and support the Senior Design Manager – MMC in ensuring that a consistent high-quality design is delivered across Glenveagh's Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) portfolio, with a particular focus on timber frame and light gauge steel frame systems. The role will act as a key interface between our timber frame manufacturer, Nua and Glenveagh, working across functions to improve standard and quality of MMC product design, while also introducing efficiencies and driving standardisation.

●        The ideal candidate will be qualified in Architecture or Engineering with post graduate experience, preferably working with a developer, contractor or MMC manufacturer on large residential projects

●        Experience with timber frame and/or light gauge steel frame design and detailing is highly desirable

●        A good understanding of statutory and regulatory compliance relevant to MMC (including IS 440, Building Regulations TGD Part B and D) and an ability to review and comment on designs and track design team performance

●        Knowledge of offsite manufacturing processes and the interface between factory production and on-site installation

●        Highly motivated and positive outlook with the ability to work effectively across two organisations (Nua and Glenveagh)

●        AutoCAD experience is essential and BIM/Revit experience is highly desirable

●        Demonstrable commercial awareness and previous client interfacing experience to ensure a range of options is considered where appropriate and identify VE opportunities

●        A high level of organisation ability and IT literacy

●        An ability to work with and manage design teams and specialist subconsultants

●        Electronic document management system experience and experience of using Aconex is a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

●  Coordinate the design of timber frame and light gauge steel frame packages across Glenveagh projects, ensuring alignment between Nua production requirements and on-site construction needs

●  Ensure optimisation of internal layouts for MMC delivery, considering manufacturing tolerances, transport logistics and site assembly sequences

●  Produce and maintain schedules for MMC specifications and internal finishes aligned with the relevant exit strategies (private, Part V, long term lease, PRS)

●  Act as the primary design liaison between Nua and Glenveagh project teams, ensuring seamless flow of design information between both organisations

●  Collaborate with the Innovation, Sales and Marketing teams to confirm and agree internal layouts and specifications suitable for MMC production

●  Manage and coordinate specialist consultants' design input relating to MMC elements and facilitate workshops to agree/establish timelines

●  Develop relationships with design team and project stakeholders during early concept stages; manage expectations of the project through regular communication and discussions regarding MMC requirements and specifications

●  Attend design team meetings and record minutes and issue to the team and follow up on actions, with particular focus on MMC design coordination items

●  Contribute and assist with the appointment, vetting and evaluation of the Design Team and MMC specialist subconsultants

●  Establish and maintain effective communication channels between Nua, Glenveagh design teams and other departments as required

●        Ensure MMC design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales and Nua production schedules

●        Evaluate project information, review all documentation and coordinate with designers regarding any missing information required to commence MMC manufacturing and construction works

●        Review and compare MMC competitors and emerging technologies to ensure Glenveagh and Nua remain at the forefront of offsite construction methods

●        Coordinate with other disciplines to assure compliance with project requirements, company standards and procedures, industry codes and standards (including IS 440 for timber frame), utility company requirements and client criteria

●        Maintain design deliverables and planning compliance tracking logs

●        Promote/Implement standardised MMC systems, methodologies and details across the Glenveagh portfolio

●        Report weekly and monthly data and information to the Senior Design Manager – MMC

●        Adhere to health and safety and environmental standards

●        Other ad hoc duties that the Company may require from time to time
