About the team

Our Data team is at the heart of our transformation journey, enabling smarter decisions, better customer experiences and stronger business performance through trusted, accessible and high-quality data.

We're building a modern, product-led approach to data, moving beyond traditional reporting to create data products that deliver measurable value across the organisation. Bringing together Product, Engineering, Governance, Analytics and Delivery expertise, the team works collaboratively to solve complex challenges and unlock new opportunities through data, insight and AI.

As a Lead Product Manager - Data, you'll join a growing community of product professionals who are passionate about delivering outcomes, championing continuous improvement and putting customer and colleague needs at the centre of everything we do. You'll have the opportunity to influence our Data Product strategy, shape how product management is embedded across the function, and help create the data capabilities that will drive the future success of the business.

This is an exciting time to join a team that is investing in its people, technology and ways of working, with the ambition to build industry-leading data products that make a real difference for our customers, colleagues and business.

About the role

As a Lead Product Manager, you'll own the vision, strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of data products or a complex, high-impact data product area.

You'll:

  • Define and communicate compelling product visions that align to our wider Data Product strategy.
  • Lead discovery activities to understand user needs, business challenges and future opportunities.
  • Translate complex data and technical concepts into clear business value and actionable product plans.
  • Prioritise product roadmaps and backlogs based on customer impact, business value, strategic alignment and delivery capacity.
  • Partner with Data Engineering, BI, Governance, Architecture and Delivery teams to shape and deliver high-quality data products.
  • Influence senior stakeholders, balancing priorities, trade-offs and investment decisions.
  • Establish meaningful success measures, OKRs and adoption metrics to demonstrate value and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure products are trusted, discoverable, governed and aligned to responsible data practices.
  • Drive product-led ways of working across the Data function, helping teams focus on outcomes rather than outputs.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data, analytics and AI to improve customer, colleague and business outcomes.

About you

We're seeking an experienced product leader who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery focus and a passion for using data to solve real business problems.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in Product Management, including ownership of complex products, platforms or product portfolios.
  • Strong experience working with data products, analytics, reporting platforms or data services.
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies, roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Expertise across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and validation through to adoption, optimisation and retirement.
  • Strong prioritisation and problem-framing skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions in complex environments.
  • Extensive experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Good understanding of data governance, data quality, privacy and regulatory considerations.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and navigating competing priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to connect product decisions to business performance and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and create alignment across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for building products that deliver measurable value.
  • Experience leading, coaching or mentoring others and helping teams adopt best practice product management approaches.
