
Clinical Team Lead
Combine hands-on addiction practice with clinical and operational leadership in this Monday to Friday role. You will coordinate casework and group treatment, guide clinical staff and help ensure services are delivered consistently, safely and in line with contractual and professional standards.
Working with clients who may be experiencing both addiction and mental health challenges, you will lead assessment and treatment planning while maintaining strong relationships with whānau, referral agencies and community providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive assessments, treatment planning and ongoing casework
- Coordinate structured group programmes and ensure appropriate staffing
- Provide clinical guidance, training and practical support to caseworkers and facilitators
- Connect clients with suitable programmes, health services and community resources
- Work constructively with whānau and other people involved in a client's recovery
- Maintain accurate, confidential and professionally written client records
- Promote culturally safe, respectful and non-discriminatory practice
- Support staff orientation, performance processes and delegated management activities
- Strengthen relationships with referral agencies and other health and social service providers
- Contribute to quality planning, service evaluation and continuous improvement
About You
- Be a qualified health practitioner with full professional registration and APC (e.g. Nurse, Social Worker, Counsellor, Drug and Alcohol Practitioner.)
- Strong proven leadership and management experience in a clinical setting
- Work experience in an AOD setting
- The capability to lead clinical casework and group-based treatment
- Sound knowledge of addiction practice and co-existing mental health needs
- A culturally responsive approach and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in health service delivery
- The ability to provide clear direction while working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies
- Strong written communication, reporting and client-record management skills
- Professional judgement, discretion and a strong commitment to client privacy
- A commitment to clinical supervision, continuing professional development and quality improvement
