About the company

At Fora, we’re reimagining what the workplace can be.

We create inspiring, design-led spaces that blend hospitality, community, and wellbeing, so people can work productively, creatively, and happily.

From our first London workspace over 20 years ago, we’ve grown to 60+ locations across the UK supporting 30,000+ members and partnering with trailblazing brands like Ocado, The British Fashion Council, and Pangaia.

Backed by The Office Group, Blackstone, and Brockton Capital, we’re growing fast and pioneering conscious design, sustainable construction, and workspaces that empower people to work in their own unique way.

At Fora, we’re not just shaping workplaces, we're shaping the future of work.

At Fora, sustainability is more than a reporting requirement. It's a key part of how we design, develop and operate our spaces.

We're looking for a Sustainability Manager to help embed environmental and social impact across our portfolio, from development projects and refurbishment programmes through to operational performance, ESG reporting and member engagement.

This is a broad and influential role working across Real Estate, Facilities, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Marketing and Customer Success. You'll play a key role in turning ambitious sustainability goals into practical initiatives that deliver measurable results across our buildings and our wider business.

Please note this position is 4 days in the office and 1 day working from anywhere.

What you'll be doing

Development Sustainability

Help ensure sustainability is embedded into projects from concept through to delivery.

  • Lead sustainability input across development, refurbishment and capital projects.
  • Establish clear targets and work with project teams to deliver against them.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks and help ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to drive best practice throughout delivery.

Energy, Carbon & Building Performance

Support the environmental performance of Fora's growing portfolio.

  • Coordinate programmes that reduce energy use, carbon emissions and environmental impact.
  • Analyse performance data and translate insights into practical actions.
  • Contribute to carbon reporting and wider environmental reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency across operational and development assets.

ESG Reporting, Certifications & Governance

Help ensure our commitments are measurable, credible and well-governed.

  • Lead sustainability reporting across the business for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and maintain sustainability certifications and accreditations.
  • Oversee data collection, validation and reporting processes.
  • Monitor emerging legislation, industry developments and reporting requirements.

Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain

Embed responsible decision-making throughout procurement activities.

  • Support the integration of sustainability criteria into supplier selection and procurement processes.
  • Manage supply chain sustainability surveys and reporting activity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and reduce environmental impact.
  • Promote circular economy principles, reuse initiatives and responsible sourcing.

Member, Colleague & Community Engagement

Bring sustainability to life across the Fora community.

  • Develop sustainability initiatives, events and engagement programmes.
  • Create accessible content and training materials for members and employees.
  • Support social value programmes, volunteering initiatives and community partnerships.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure sustainability messaging is accurate and engaging.

About You

You're someone who enjoys turning strategy into action and helping others understand how environmental and social impact can support business success.

You'll be comfortable moving between technical detail and commercial priorities, building strong relationships across different teams and influencing decisions through insight, evidence and expertise.

You'll enjoy working collaboratively, challenging thinking when needed, and finding practical ways to deliver meaningful improvements across a complex and growing portfolio.

Why Fora?

This is an opportunity to shape sustainability across one of the UK's leading flexible workspace providers.

You'll work across development, operations, ESG and customer experience, giving you exposure to a broad range of projects and stakeholders while helping influence how Fora continues to evolve its environmental and social impact strategy.

We're looking for:

  • Experience working within sustainability, ESG, commercial real estate, construction, facilities management or a related built-environment sector.
  • Experience supporting or leading sustainability initiatives across development projects, refurbishments or capital programmes.
  • Strong understanding of operational sustainability across a multi-site portfolio.
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, project teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of energy, carbon, waste, water and resource efficiency principles.
  • Experience with sustainability data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience supporting ESG, investor, regulatory or stakeholder reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of sustainability certifications and frameworks relevant to the built environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across different business functions.

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental management, engineering, construction, real estate or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation such as IEMA, ISEP, CIBSE, RICS, BREEAM, WELL or LEED.
  • Experience with NABERS, Whole Life Carbon Assessments or low-carbon building performance frameworks.
  • Project management qualifications or significant project delivery experience.
  • Qualifications or specialist training in carbon accounting, energy management, ESG reporting or environmental management.

At Fora, we believe work should enhance your life—not compete with it. That’s why our benefits are designed to support your wellbeing, fuel your ambitions, and give you the freedom to live and work your way.
