We are looking for a Senior React Native Developer to join our team and help build high-quality, cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android. This role is perfect for someone with extensive hands-on experience in mobile development who is ready to take ownership, drive technical decisions and contribute to impactful projects. If you’re passionate about writing clean code, delivering polished user experiences and working with modern technologies like AWS and AppSync within a strong engineering team, we’d love to hear from you!
What your day will look like:
- Design and develop cross-platform mobile applications using React Native for both Android and iOS, ensuring consistent performance and user experience across devices and OS versions
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync, including schema design, resolvers and real-time subscription functionality
- Integrate AWS services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, S3 and Cognito with AppSync to deliver scalable and secure backend solutions
- Lead architectural discussions and technical decision-making across the mobile stack, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions for both iOS and Android applications
- Implement responsive and intuitive UI components following platform-specific guidelines for both Android and iOS, ensuring a native look and feel across all supported devices and screen sizes
- Manage application state effectively using appropriate state management solutions, maintaining clean and predictable data flows
- Own the full release lifecycle for both platforms, including building, signing and deploying applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Write and maintain automated tests including unit, integration and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality, reliability and confidence across all supported platforms and devices
- Monitor and optimise application performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in rendering, network calls and memory usage across both platforms
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate requirements and wireframes into polished, production-ready features
- Stay current with the React native ecosystem, proactively evaluating new libraries, tools and AWS service updates to continuously improve the development stack
What we’re looking for:
- Deep understanding of React Native architecture and mobile development best practices across both iOS and Android platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployment, including App Store and Google Play release processes
- Good problem-solving skills and a structured approach to cross-platform mobile development, including AWS and AppSync integration
- Experience with mobile testing frameworks and a solid understanding of TDD across iOS and Android
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team, including with backend engineers working across AWS services
- Comfortable working with and maintaining iOS and Android codebases and AppSync backends built by different teams
We are actively committed to promoting a fully diverse and inclusive workforce and we welcome applications for this role from all candidates who meet the key requirements. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you require any reasonable adjustments to assist with your application.
