You will be joining an organisation that is very involved in ensuring that Victoria’s children and young people with disabilities and additional needs receive the inclusion support they need to participate in their education on the same basis as their peers. 

About the role

The Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program provides additional support to government-funded Victorian kindergartens to promote the access and participation of children with disability, developmental delay with high support needs, or complex medical needs. 

There are two streams that kindergartens can apply for additional support under: 

  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Program – Disability 
  • Kindergarten Inclusion Support Program – Complex Medical Needs. 

The KIS project support team is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of over 4,500 applications for additional support per year. Most applications are received during school Terms 1 and 4 each year. As such, the Casual Project Support Officer will provide support to the team during peak application period.

As a Casual Project Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide help desk support to kindergarten services, KIS providers, and Department of Education staff in relation to application enquiries. 
  • Assist kindergarten staff to sign up to the KIS application portal, and support with ongoing use and resolving any technical difficulties they may experience. 
  • Check and validate applications against program requirements. 
  • Direct applications through each stage of the application process. 
  • Provide support to AHA's team of application assessors.

About you

You pride yourself on delivering excellent customer service and having an eye for detail.

In addition, you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in project/program support or similar administration role. Experience in the health, disability or education sectors will be highly regarded.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to undertake varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including data entry, database management, and ability to provide technical support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience liaising with external stakeholders by telephone and email.
  • Good organisational skills and effective time management.
  • An ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and knowledge.
  • Availability to work Mon-Fri, up to 5 days per week during peak periods, with flexibility to work fewer days (1 to 4 days per week) as program demand changes.
