Job Title: Principal IT Service Desk Engineer – Fixed Term Contract

Location: Larbert

Our Vision & Why It Matters

At Alexander Dennis, our vision is to lead the evolution of sustainable on-road mass transportation and mobility.

We design, deliver, and support market-leading buses and coaches that help reduce emissions, improve air quality, and keep communities connected. Every role contributes to that mission whether you’re engineering, driving sales, improving production, or supporting our customers.

What You’ll Do

As our Principal IT Service Desk Engineer, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality IT support services across Alexander Dennis. Acting as a senior member of the Service Delivery team, you'll provide both first and second-line technical support while helping to drive service excellence, continuous improvement, and user satisfaction across the business.

You'll support colleagues across multiple locations, resolve complex technical issues, manage service requests, and contribute to technology rollouts and improvement initiatives. Working closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Engineering Systems and third-party partners, you'll help ensure our IT services remain reliable, secure and aligned with business needs.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for an experienced IT support professional with a strong background in Service Desk, Service Delivery, or desktop support environments. You'll be an excellent problem solver with a customer-first mindset and the ability to manage incidents and service requests through to successful resolution.

You will have strong technical knowledge across Microsoft technologies, user administration, device management and end-user support, combined with excellent communication and organisational skills. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, and take pride in delivering an exceptional service to colleagues across the business.

Bonus if you have

  • Microsoft certifications or ITIL Foundation accreditation.
  • Experience with Hornbill, ManageEngine or similar IT Service Management platforms.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or multi-site organisations.
  • Experience with endpoint management, device deployment and modern workplace technologies.
  • Exposure to service improvement projects, technology rollouts, or change initiatives.
