Data Engineering Manager – Finance & Accounting
About the Team
It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing Accounting team with ample development opportunities. We're growing the Revenue Data team with Engineering and Accounting Data openings to drive our automation and systems infrastructure and while keeping pace within one of the fastest growing marketplace companies.
About the Role
The Data Engineering Manager, Finance & Accounting, leads a team building and maintaining the data pipelines, platforms and integrations that support accounting, reconciliation and financial reporting workflows. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you will develop engineers, shape the team’s roadmap and remain close to delivery, ensuring our data products are reliable, scalable and well governed.
You will partner with Finance, Accounting and cross-functional Engineering teams to translate complex operational and regulatory requirements into automated, auditable solutions. We are looking for someone with strong Data Engineering and distributed-systems experience, including building production data pipelines and platforms at scale. Experience supporting Finance or Accounting workflows is beneficial, but we are primarily looking for an exceptional technical leader who can grow into the domain.
You will report to the Senior Manager, M&A Accounting (Data), within the Accounting Revenue Data team in our Finance organisation.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
Own the strategic roadmap and execution for DoorDash's accounting infrastructure, including the data pipelines, system integrations, and automation platforms that power financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance at scale.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into reliable, auditable backend systems.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting technical direction and fostering a high-performance culture within a fast-moving, high-stakes financial environment.
Drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system scalability — directly enabling faster close cycles and audit readiness across the organization.
We’re excited about you because…
You have 7+ years of experience in data or software engineering, including 2+ years leading engineering teams, ideally within fintech, marketplace, or high-growth tech environments.
You bring hands-on expertise with modern data infrastructure tools (e.g., Fivetran, dbt Cloud, Snowflake, Workato) and can credibly guide technical decisions across the stack.
You have a strong working knowledge of financial processes — including revenue recognition, reconciliation, and close workflows — and can bridge the gap between engineering and accounting stakeholders.
You're a clear communicator who can align diverse partners (Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Engineering) around complex technical tradeoffs and delivery timelines.
Experience with distributed systems, data quality frameworks, and SOX-relevant controls is a strong plus.
Why Join Us?
At DoorDash, you’ll do work that matters, solving real-world problems in a massive marketplace that’s constantly evolving. By joining our London-based team on a Deliveroo contract, you get the unique advantage of working within a vibrant local business environment while directly blueprinting global-scale processes for the broader DoorDash Inc. group.
We’re problem solvers, community builders, and innovators, brought together by a shared drive to make things better. Working here you can expect to:
🔧 Make a visible impact every day: Your work directly improves experiences for merchants, consumers, partners, and dashers/riders worldwide by building clean, frictionless operational workflows.
🌱 Learn fast in an entrepreneurial environment: Work close to the market with autonomy, pace, and real responsibility.
🧠 Build a career, not just a role: Stretch yourself, develop new skills, and grow as the global business evolves.
🌎 Deliver together in an inclusive culture: Collaborative, values-driven teams that support how you work best.
We aim to create a fair process that lets your skills shine—our interview typically includes 3-4 stages. Find more about how we hire here.
Our Global Structure
DoorDash brings together brands and teams with massive reach, scale, and ambition. In this role, you will collaborate directly with teammates, systems, and leaders across our entire global footprint, including Deliveroo, Wolt, and DoorDash US. Together, we are unlocking new possibilities and driving global impact as one unified team.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We know that a great workplace reflects the world around us and that true diversity and inclusion make us stronger, more creative, and better at what we do. We’re committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work and feel they belong.
We believe in equality of opportunity and welcome candidates from all backgrounds regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion, or belief.
If you have a disability or long-term health condition and need support to apply for one of our roles, or require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, you’ll have the opportunity to let us know once you’ve submitted your application. We’ll share details on how to request support so we can ensure you have a fair and equitable experience.
If you’re excited about making a real impact in a fast-moving marketplace and growing your career alongside ambitious, supportive teams, we’d love to hear from you!
