Unison Contracting Services Limited is the contracting arm of Unison, one of New Zealand's largest electricity distribution businesses. Across Hawke's Bay, Taupo and Rotorua, we have a staff of qualified professionals who are skilled in the following areas: • design work • project management • asset recording • cable location • power line audits, and power line upgrades • tree trimming and removal • directional drilling • trenching • traffic management

The Key Responsibilities of the STMS Field Coordinator are:

  • Organise daily traffic management requirements:

• Undertake traffic management duties. Review received service requests:

• Reactive call-outs; • Urgent and justified call-outs for the day and allocate. Prepare documentation which may include:

• Carry out site Visits

• Prepare TMP's to submit to RCA's.

• Meet with the person/s making the requests.

• Carrying out site visits before and during worksite operations and undertake modifications to plans to minimise risk as necessary

Auditing and monitoring:

• Site visits to check compliance and discuss issues with site personnel;

• Monitoring of all sites attended and unattended. On site traffic management duties:

• Set up traffic management as per approved plans

• Modify on site set ups where required Equipment Management:

• Clean and maintain equipment for daily use;

• Keeping an inventory of all available equipment for use on each vehicle.

• Utilise trucks and trailer for daily use and callouts. Undertake staff training:

• Conduct STMS and TC courses as required;

• Coach staff on traffic management;

• Present traffic management issues at staff meetings. Other Responsibilities (as time allows):

• General labouring duties;

• General machine operation;

• Supervision of small teams and/or sites;

• Drive vehicles appropriate to driver's licences held;

• Operate plant appropriate to licences and/or unit standards held;

On/Call and standby is required ona rostered basis.

Essential for this rolea re the following:

  • Full and clean Class 2 driver's licence.
  • TMS - Cat A & B.
  • Experience in Office administration

Desirable would be the following:

  • Experience in using Rapid Plan or similar TM planning programmes.
  • Civil work experience in the construction of utility assets.
  • Public relations and customer service experience.
