Peer Support Worker - Fixed Term
- Fixed Term Position (32-40hrs) for 6 months
- Based at Madras Street

About us
Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.
We are seeking a peer supporter with their own lived experience of mental illness and/or addictions to work in our Christchurch Peer Support team.

What you’ll be doing
- Meeting individually with clients to provide Intentional Peer Support
- Maintaining relevant electronic records
- Reflecting on your own work practice through supervision
- Contribution to the Peer Support team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Training and experience in Intentional Peer Support or similar.
- Experience in Tikanga Māori and culturally appropriate service delivery to Māori would be an advantage, as would experience in the mental health and/ or addictions sector.
- Experience in the mental health and disability sector would be an advantage.
It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 – Peer Support Qualification (or similar) or are committed to studying towards one.
Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver’s license.
You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
