Accountant
We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join a busy finance team in a high-volume, transactional environment.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is highly detail-oriented and can confidently manage competing priorities. You will be involved across a broad range of financial accounting activities, from GST returns and month-end journals through to reconciliations, financial reporting and supporting transactional finance functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process month-end journals and assist with month-end close activities.
- Prepare and complete GST returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with financial reporting, including reporting through to trial balance.
- Perform detailed account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process and manage complex foreign currency transactions and associated accounting requirements.
- Provide support across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when required.
- Work closely with suppliers and logistics teams to resolve financial and transactional queries.
- Assist with supplier payments and payment-related journals.
- Work through shipment allocations and ensure costs are accurately allocated to the appropriate shipments, accounts and transactions.
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial information and reporting.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Provide general accounting support to the Financial Controller and wider finance team.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure finance processes are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, commercially minded and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience with GST returns and month-end accounting.
- Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with foreign currency transactions would be advantageous.
- The ability to work confidently in a high-volume, transactional environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A quick-learning mindset and the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across finance, suppliers and operational teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to investigate issues and find solutions.
- A strong team mentality and willingness to support the wider finance function.
- Chinese language skills would be highly regarded.
This role would suit an Accountant who enjoys a varied, hands-on position rather than a narrowly defined accounting role. You'll need to be comfortable getting into the detail, juggling multiple priorities and working collaboratively with different areas of the business.
