The Buffalo Bulletin , a nationally recognized weekly publication located in the breathtaking Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our team. Our publication specializes in local news and is committed to delivering high-quality, impactful stories that matter to our readers.

Responsibilities:

Research, report, write and produce excellent content for print, online and social media. Video a plus!

Develop and maintain sources within the community

Attend events, meetings and other activities to cover and report on news and stories relevant to the community

Pitch story ideas and contribute to editorial meetings

Edit and proofread content for accuracy and clarity

Collaborate with other reporters, editors and photographers to produce high-quality content

Qualifications:

This is an early journalism position. We prefer 1-2 years professional experience. Exceptions will be made for exceptional candidates. 

A bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent is preferred.

Strong writing and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing platforms

Passion for  storytelling
