LOCATION: The Rock, Bury

SHIFT PATTERN: Weds-Sunday, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.72 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE 

Your duties will involve the cleaning of a busy shopping and leisure center, this includes mall floors, emptying bins, litter picking, using machinery such as jetwash, scrubber dryers, cardboard baler, waste compactors.  You would be required to clean toilets and top up consumables. You must have good attention to detail and high standards of cleaning.  

 

Requirements 

  • Dusting, wiping, and disinfecting surfaces 
  • Scrubbing kitchens and toilets 
  • Emptying bins on the front of house areas 
  • Moving glass and food bins into the yards and replacing them with new ones 
  • Usage of machinery such as jetwash, scrubber dryers, cardboard baler, waste compactors 
  • Hoovering and mopping floors including stairwells 
  • Disinfecting all high touch points 
  • Detail work i.e. skirtings, sills, fixtures etc 
  • Following group and company policies and procedures 
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment. 
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received. 
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system. 
  • Any other duties as assigned by your manager to support the team and ensure the smooth operation of the business will be communicated to you 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or maintenance role would be beneficial, though not always essential 
  • Understanding how to use personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Must be able to follow company policies, cleaning protocols, and safety regulations. 
  • Ability to report any issues, communicate training needs, and provide feedback to management 
  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned, supporting the team in various cleaning and maintenance tasks 
  • Understanding of COSHH would be desirable 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Work to routine schedules 
  • Ability to work on their own and as a team 
  • Excellent timekeeping 
  • Good communication skills
