GP Clinical Support - Prostate Cancer, Health Inequalities LES 2026/27
Payment and hours
The role will be paid at £100 per hour. The estimated maximum time commitment is approximately 44 hours in total, although the GP will invoice only for hours worked. The work is expected to be completed by 31 March 2027.
Central London Healthcare is seeking a GP working in Westminster to provide targeted clinical support to the four Westminster PCNs in delivering the prostate cancer element of the Health Inequalities Local Enhanced Service 2026/27.
This is a time-limited role focused on supporting consistent, clinically appropriate prostate cancer risk conversations with higher-risk groups, including Black men, CORE20PLUS5 populations and men with a first-degree family history of prostate cancer. The work will support PCNs to deliver staff training, provide clear clinical advice for local in-reach activity, and help achieve the payment-linked KPIs for the LES.
The role is intended to provide clinical input and advice rather than operational project management. PCNs will remain responsible for organising local delivery, confirming event arrangements, identifying relevant staff groups and ensuring attendance at training and in-reach sessions.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Developing and delivering training for relevant non-GP staff in “prostate risk conversations”, including Care Navigators, Community Health and Wellbeing Workers, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, and Pharmacists.
· Preparing and sharing appropriate information and resources for staff, including relevant websites, posters, leaflets and practical key messages.
· Supporting PCNs to plan in-reach events for communities and groups at higher risk of prostate cancer.
· Providing clinical advice to ensure in-reach activity is delivered in line with the service specification and uses culturally appropriate information.
· Attending selected in-reach events where required, to provide a short clinical input and respond to prostate cancer risk or testing queries from attendees and staff.
· Advising practice staff on suitable materials and key messages for use at events.
We are looking for a GP who:
· Currently works in Westminster or has strong knowledge of Westminster primary care.
· Is confident discussing prostate cancer risk, informed choice and PSA testing in a clear and accessible way.
· Can communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical staff.
· Can support culturally appropriate engagement with communities at higher risk of prostate cancer.
· Is able to work flexibly across the four Westminster PCNs between appointment and 31 March 2027.
Desirable experience or interests:
· Health inequalities.
· Quality improvement.
· Education, training or staff development.
· Community engagement or outreach.
· Cancer prevention, early diagnosis or population health management.
