Welder / Bin Maintainer

Based at our workshop in East Tamaki, the role is responsible for our in-house preventative maintenance and repairs of all types of bins and associated equipment.
Are you a hands‑on, reliable team player who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly? We’re looking for a dedicated Welder/ Bin Maintainer to join our busy yard team and support the day‑to‑day operation of our waste management facility.
Key responsibilities.
- You will be setting up and operating hand tools, including but not limited to gas/ plasma cutting, drills and grinders, along with requisitioning or repairing parts and associated consumables.
- You will work closely with the Supervisor/Manager to requisition repair parts and consumables, ensuring the cost‑effective use of materials within budget.
- As your experience develops, you may also undertake general maintenance on WM fleet vehicles and compactors.
- This is a fast‑paced role that requires initiative, strong time‑management skills, and the ability to respond quickly to breakdowns and spills, minimising downtime.
- You will be responsible for maintaining accurate paperwork, keeping the workshop area and yard clean and organised, and upholding a professional image of the company at all times.
