🏡 Where you'll fit in
We're looking for a highly motivated Finance Associate to join our fast-paced and growing Operational Finance team. This is a broad, hybrid role where you will be a key contributor to our day-to-day Accounts Payable and expense operations while getting genuine hands-on exposure across the full finance cycle, from month-end close and balance sheet control through to helping shape commercial decisions. We're looking for someone adaptable, proactive, and wants to understand the story behind the numbers, not just process them.
Working closely within the Operational Finance team, you will be a key part of our function, contributing to robust financial reporting and controls in a collaborative team where everyone’s contribution and opinions matters!
🚀 What you’ll own
Review and process invoices ensuring transactions are accurately and timely recorded
Be the primary reviewer of the business expense management system
Conduct recurring supplier, bank reconciliations (multi-currency), and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post accruals, prepayment journals while maintaining appropriate schedules
Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register and its movements as part of the monthly close
Assist with variance analysis on month end reporting packs
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure processes and controls are adhered to, and help identify where processes can be improved
Support on audit deliverables, preparing accompanying documentation and evidence within agreed timeframes
Opportunity to perform and support on other ad hoc projects and requests as assigned by the wider finance team, building an understanding of how finance supports commercial decision-making
🧠 What you bring to the party
At least part-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent — we'll support you in completing your studies as you grow into the role
Some practical experience in a finance role, whether through placement, graduate scheme, or early career experience
Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is essential
Technology savvy, with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables etc.), confidence with everyday tools like Gmail, Slack; any experience using AI tools to work smarter is a bonus
Technology sector experience is a plus but not essential, we'll train you on the business and what we do
Inquisitive and curious nature - we need someone who wants to ask why, not just follow instructions
Excellent attention to detail is a must
Quickly masters new software and digital tools
Confident in communication and problem solving with stakeholders of all levels
Thrives in a high-pressure, where speed, accuracy, and a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude are essential
Passionate for making improvements and positive change for the team and business
Are you ready for a career with us? We want to ensure you have the right tools and environment to unleash your potential. If you have any accommodation requests, please contact us at ----- We’ll do our best to tailor the experience to your needs so you can feel comfortable, confident and be at your best!
Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we’re looking for! At Kraken, we're creating a team of genuine, honest, empathetic people. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. We consider all applicants without regard to race, colour, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
