HR Advisor

Office Location: Basingstoke, United Kingdom

Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working

Join Our Team as an HR Advisor!

Are you passionate about guiding managers, resolving employee relations cases, and creating workplace experiences that bring out the best in people?

We are looking for a dedicated HR Advisor to join our team in Basingstoke. As a frontline people partner, you will play a critical role in delivering seamless HR operations, championing company culture, and ensuring our people strategy aligns with our overall business goals.

If you are a skilled HR generalist with a strong foundation in employee relations, a solid grasp of UK employment law, and a passion for supporting people at every stage of their career journey, this is the perfect next step for your HR career.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As an HR Advisor, you will act as a trusted advisor to management and employees across the organisation, providing clear advice on a wide range of HR topics while reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner.

One day you might be coaching a manager through a performance improvement plan, handling an employee relations case (disciplinary, grievance, or absence management), or updating HR policies to keep pace with changing employment legislation. The next, you could be drafting offer letters and onboarding new hires, analysing turnover trends in Workday, or coordinating interactive learning workshops and employee engagement activities.

You will balance day-to-day HR operations with strategic people projects, working closely with recruitment, department managers, and leadership to drive performance and cultivate an inclusive workplace culture.

What We Value

We move fast, collaborate closely, and support one another in delivering exceptional people experiences.

You'll fit right in if you:

  • Drive sound HR advice grounded in a practical understanding of employment law and best practices

  • Possess strong conflict-resolution skills, approaching complex people issues with critical thinking and empathy

  • Communicate exceptional balance, maintaining total confidentiality while navigating sensitive situations

  • Organise with agility, effortlessly juggling multiple active ER cases and HR initiatives simultaneously

  • Thrive on data and tech, using platforms like Workday to spot trends and deliver meaningful HR insights

  • Build strong relationships, acting as an approachable, supportive partner to employees and managers alike

Your Background

You don't need to tick every box, but we're generally looking for:

Core Skills & Expertise

  • HR Experience: 2–4 years of generalist HR experience, with hands-on practice managing end-to-end ER casework (disciplinaries, grievances, PIPs, and absence management)

  • Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Employment Law: Strong working knowledge of local labor regulations, policy maintenance, and workplace compliance

  • Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms, alongside MS Office / Google Workspace

Competent / Working Knowledge

  • Supporting annual performance management, bonus cycles, and manager coaching

  • Talent acquisition support, including interviewing, offer creation, and onboarding execution

  • Identifying training needs and coordinating L&D programs or workshops

  • Employee engagement initiatives, survey data analysis, and workplace wellbeing planning

And we make sure it’s a great place to work:

  • 25 days of paid leave per year

  • Pension program

  • Discounts for staff

  • Office games like FIFA, chess, and ping-pong

  • Sony Benefits and much more!

Why Level Up Your Career With Us

  • Trusted Impact: Become a go-to strategic advisor for managers and employees across the business

  • Skill Growth: Expand your ER, compliance, and L&D expertise alongside an experienced Senior HR Business Partner

  • Culture Driver: Take lead ownership of engagement surveys, team-building events, and wellbeing initiatives

  • Operational Excellence: Utilize modern HR systems like Workday to streamline reporting and drive business decisions
