About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Executive General Manager, Commercial to drive the growth and commercial performance of Journey Beyond’s newly formed Rail & Touring division. Reporting to the Managing Director, Rail & Touring and partnering closely with the broader Commercial Leadership team, this senior leadership role is accountable for the commercial agenda, driving revenue, market growth, customer demand and driving guest advocacy for the division’s portfolio.
Combining strategic leadership with commercial execution, you will define and deliver the division's commercial strategy across sales, marketing, pricing, distribution and partnerships, while identifying new opportunities to accelerate growth and strengthen market position.
This is a rare opportunity to influence growth, translating strategy into results while working alongside divisional leaders and Corporate Centres of Excellence to unlock new markets, enhance customer demand and maximise commercial performance.
Ideally based in Adelaide with travel as required, this is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting mark on one of Australia’s leading experiential tourism businesses.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and execution of the divisional commercial strategy and annual business plan.
- Deliver revenue growth, market share expansion and profitable commercial outcomes.
- Drive pricing, yield and revenue optimisation strategies.
- Oversee commercial forecasting, budgeting, investment planning and performance reporting.
- Develop sales and marketing plans aligned to divisional priorities.
- Identify growth opportunities through customer, market and commercial insights.
- Partner with operational and finance leaders to ensure commercially sound and executable initiatives.
- Strengthen relationships with key customers, industry partners and tourism stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice on revenue performance, customer trends and market opportunities.
About You
You are a seasoned commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and commercial performance within complex, customer-focused organisations. You combine strategic thinking with strong execution capability and are comfortable operating in a collaborative, matrix environment.
You will bring:
- Significant senior commercial leadership experience with accountability for revenue growth and business performance.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing commercial strategies across multiple channels and markets.
- Strong expertise in commercial planning, forecasting, budgeting and performance management.
- Experience leading sales, marketing and customer growth initiatives.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and the ability to balance customer, operational and financial outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability.
- Experience within tourism, travel, hospitality or a related service industry will be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline
