Reporting directly to the Clubhouse Manager, you will oversee daily front-of-house operations, lead and develop the Food & Beverage team, and ensure every member and guest receives a warm, professional, and memorable experience in this prestigious historic setting.

You will combine hands-on service with supervisory responsibilities, supporting the Clubhouse Manager in all aspects of clubhouse management while driving high standards in food and drink service, event delivery, team performance, and operational efficiency. Ideal candidates are experienced hospitality leaders with a genuine passion for golf-club culture, strong people-management skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining excellence in a busy, member-focused environment.

At Get Golfing CIO, we are committed to supporting local communities and promoting the benefits of quality sports facilities, and the Clubhouse Supervisor role is central to achieving this mission through exceptional service and team leadership.

Essential:

  • Proven supervisory or team-leader experience (minimum 2 years) in a busy hospitality environment – ideally a golf club, hotel, country club, or premium restaurant/bar.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu service, bar management, responsible alcohol service, and cost control.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful events, functions, and large-scale service.
  • Excellent people-management skills with the ability to lead, develop, and performance-manage a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, professional, and customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic stock/inventory software.
  • Thorough understanding of food hygiene (Level 2 Food Safety or above), health & safety, and licensing regulations (Personal Licence holder is advantageous).
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required by the business.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
  • Full support for the Clubhouse Manager and a genuine commitment to the values of Get Golfing CIO.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working within a golf club or similar private-members environment.
  • Knowledge of golf and its culture.
  • Experience with event-management software or reservation systems.
  • Food Safety Level 2 certification and/or Personal Licence.
  • Supervisory or leadership qualification (e.g., Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor).

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development – Lead, motivate, and manage the Food & Beverage team on a daily basis, including rostering, training, performance management, and coaching to maintain the highest service standards.
  • Operational Oversight – Support the Clubhouse Manager in the smooth running of all clubhouse operations, stepping in as the senior point of contact in their absence.
  • Food & Beverage Excellence – Oversee the preparation and service of food and drinks, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and compliance with all licensing and safety regulations.
  • Event Management – Plan, coordinate, and deliver seamless service for club events, weddings, corporate functions, tournaments, and private hire, working closely with the events and kitchen teams.
  • Guest Experience – Maintain an outstanding level of customer service, proactively resolving any issues and creating a welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors.
  • Order & Service Management – Ensure accurate order taking, efficient service flow, and timely delivery of food and beverages across all areas.
  • Stock & Inventory Control – Monitor and manage stock levels, place orders, control costs, and conduct regular stocktakes to minimise wastage.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties – Process transactions accurately via the POS system, handle cash and card payments, and assist with basic reporting and reconciliations.
  • Cleanliness & Compliance – Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety across all front-of-house areas, ensuring full compliance with food safety and licensing laws.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance service, menu offerings, and operational processes, feeding insights back to the Clubhouse Manager.
