The Elastomers is seeking a reliable and physically capable Process Worker / Compounder to join our production team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who takes pride in working safely, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a practical manufacturing environment. You will play an important role in preparing and compounding rubber materials to prescribed formulations while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and cleanliness.
About the Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of production floor and compounding activities, including accurately weighing rubber chemicals according to prescribed recipes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing bags, labels and materials for production.
- Accurately weighing ingredients according to prescribed formulations.
- Preparing and setting up the compounding work area and station.
- Looking up and accurately transcribing formulations from computer systems and formulation cards.
- Loading and unloading raw materials, including receiving materials.
- Completing required production and associated paperwork.
- Maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the compounding area.
- Following all relevant production and safe work procedures to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Year 10 education or equivalent.
- Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction and multiplication.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- The ability to read and understand safe work procedures written in English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following formulations.
- The physical capability to handle materials, including 25 kg bags.
- A current LF Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Basic computer skills and confidence using a PC.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A willingness to undertake training and act as a First Aider and Emergency Warden.
Desirable
- Previous experience in rubber compounding, manufacturing or warehousing.
- Experience working with rubber chemicals or similar production materials.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.

Working Environment
- Hands-on manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and dust.
- PPE is provided and must be worn.
- Clean-shaven facial hair is required when using respiratory protection.
