Payroll Manager
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate payroll activities across multiple international locations. This role will act as the central point of contact between the business and our external payroll providers, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of payroll data while maintaining compliance with local payroll legislation and company policies.
The successful candidate will not be responsible for processing payroll directly. Instead, they will be responsible for gathering, validating, and managing payroll information from internal stakeholders and ensuring payroll providers receive accurate data within agreed timelines.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented payroll professional with strong international payroll experience and a passion for delivering a seamless employee experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle through external payroll providers across multiple countries.
- Manage the Deel portal for all payrolls in platform
- Manage the Payroll relationship with the UK external accountants who process payroll
- Collect, review, validate, and submit all payroll-related data, including new starters, leavers, contractual changes, bonuses, commissions, overtime, and benefits.
- Liaise with HR, Finance, and departmental managers to ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Coordinate payroll activities across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Be the expert around mobility of staff, ensuring staff are taxed in correct jurisdictions along with shadow payrolling for social security costs.
- Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with relevant employment, tax, data protection, and payroll legislation.
- Maintain robust payroll controls, processes, and audit trails.
- Build strong working relationships with payroll providers, HR teams, Finance teams, and business leaders.
- Produce payroll-related reports and analysis for Finance and HR leadership teams.
- Monitor payroll metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager, Global Payroll Manager, or Senior Payroll Specialist role.
- Experience supporting payroll operations across EMEA, APAC, and/or North America.
- Significant experience managing payroll across multiple international locations.
- Advanced Excel and payroll reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of global payroll principles, compliance requirements, and employment legislation.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and competing deadlines.
- Experience working closely with HR, Finance, and third-party vendors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
