Senior Consultant - Full Stack Application Developer
Analytium Ltd is a boutique UK data and analytics consultancy focused on SAS modernisation, cloud data platforms, and BI, delivering enterprise programmes for major clients including a UK tier-one bank. We win that work because we build our own accelerators rather than throwing people at problems.
We have built a genuinely good analytics accelerator that parses SAS estates, builds table and attribute-level lineage across hundreds of thousands of records, and reconciles migrations. It lives on a laptop. It is not deployed, not shareable, and the interface does not do the engineering underneath it justice.
This person fixes that, and then owns it. It is not a greenfield role; most of the work is taking an existing, working thing and making it production-grade.
Required Qualifications
- Experience personally taking an application from working prototype to production and then operating it for real users.
- Full-stack Python experience, from database calls through to user-facing interfaces, with hands-on experience building and deploying containerised applications and strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes to run applications reliably.
- Strong database integration and data modelling experience, including connection pooling, JDBC/ODBC behaviour, query performance troubleshooting, and a solid understanding of large-scale database and data warehouse systems at volume.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
- Strong front-end and UX capability, with evidence of designing an interface that non-authors can use effectively.
- Experience with CI/CD, release automation, and a Git-based workflow as standard practice.
- Networking fundamentals to debug connectivity issues inside locked-down enterprise environments.
- Experience working day to day with internal engineers and client engineering or platform teams to agree deployment constraints, navigate security review, and explain technical trade-offs.
- Comfortable demonstrating your own work to non-engineers.
- Evidence of AI-assisted working, including having shipped something where an AI coding tool did most of the typing, alongside the ability to clearly explain what you built, what broke, and what you learned.
- Evidence that you have automated part of your own job away.
- Willingness to use Claude Code and Claude Cowork daily, openness to further AI training regardless of starting point, and an appetite to work in an AI-first way.
- Able to travel occasionally to the Hampshire base and client sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying and operating an application inside a regulated or heavily restricted enterprise environment where you do not control the platform.
- Experience integrating applications with Teradata, Databricks, SAS, or SSH-driven jobs.
- Experience with React or an equivalent modern front-end framework.
- Experience with graph or lineage visualisation.
- Experience with observability and monitoring.
- Public cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Consulting or stakeholder-management experience.
- Experience working in credit risk.
- Discretionary annual bonus scheme
