About the role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Senior Data Analyst in the Data and Analytics Team. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of data analysis, data product ownership and quantitative modelling. The role combines deep analytical capability with an understanding of investment data and business needs, translating complex datasets into insights that support portfolio construction, performance analysis and investment decision-making, including ownership of analytical use cases from requirement through to delivery.
In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Operate within Davy’s enterprise Data & Analytics function, supporting the Investment Management team as a key analytical partner to portfolio management, investment research and risk teams.
- Work closely with data engineering teams (including Snowflake engineers), the role will contribute to the design and development of scalable data solutions, ensuring investment data is trusted, accessible and fit for purpose. The role requires a strong delivery focus, with responsibility for managing and prioritising analytical and data product backlogs in an Agile environment.
- Partner with portfolio managers and investment teams to translate business requirements into analytical and data solutions
- Develop analytical models and insights to support portfolio performance, attribution analysis and investment decision-making
- Design and deliver performance attribution and portfolio analytics to support investment decision-making
- Build dashboards and reporting outputs for investment, risk and senior stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with data engineers to develop and enhance investment data pipelines and data models
- Support the development of curated investment data sets and data products to enable self-service analytics
- Operate within Agile delivery frameworks, using tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps to track progress and manage work
- Manage and prioritise a backlog of analytical and data product requirements, ensuring alignment to business priorities and delivery timelines
- Define and apply data quality standards across investment data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Explore and apply AI and advanced analytical techniques to enhance insights, efficiency and decision support
- Work with third-party data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI) to source, validate and integrate data
About you:
- 5–8 years’ experience in data analytics, with experience in investment management, asset management or financial services
- Strong analytical capability with experience in performance attribution, portfolio analytics or risk modelling
- Proficiency in Python (e.g. pandas, NumPy) for financial data analysis and modelling
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)
- Good understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and associated data structures
- Experience working within Agile environments, including backlog management and iterative delivery
- Familiarity with project management and delivery tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps
- Experience working with data engineering teams and contributing to data pipeline or data product development
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly
- Demonstrated delivery focus, with the ability to prioritise effectively and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in and ability to apply AI or advanced analytics techniques to financial data is desirable
