Join one of the UK's most loved drinks brands

At Master of Malt, we're known for our incredible range of spirits, expert knowledge, and a voice that feels more like a trusted friend than a retailer. We're looking for a Social Media Manager to take ownership of that voice and help us build social channels that people genuinely want to follow.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the social media strategy across Master of Malt Retail, Master of Malt Trade, and key Atom brands including Bathtub Gin and Drinks by the Dram.

You'll be responsible for creating engaging, platform-native content, growing active communities, building meaningful creator partnerships, and helping us turn social media into a powerful commercial and brand-building channel.

What you'll be doing

Develop and lead our social strategy

  • Own and deliver the social media strategy across Master of Malt Retail, Master of Malt Trade and key first-party brands.
  • Create channel-specific approaches that resonate with different audiences, from whisky enthusiasts to hospitality buyers.
  • Build and maintain a content calendar balancing storytelling, product launches, commercial activity and community engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for new channels and emerging platforms where our audiences are spending their time.
  • Relaunch and grow our Master of Malt Trade social presence.

Create content people actually want to see

  • Lead the creation of engaging content across Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
  • Work closely with our production and content teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Help establish and grow our TikTok presence through creative, platform-native content.
  • Ensure all copy and creative reflects the Master of Malt tone of voice: knowledgeable, entertaining and never corporate.
  • Collaborate with creators, influencers and industry voices to expand reach and diversify content.

Build communities, not just audiences

  • Foster engaged communities that return for recommendations, new releases, expert insights and conversation.
  • Develop relationships with creators, bartenders, drinks writers and brand partners.
  • Manage day-to-day community engagement across channels.
  • Turn followers into advocates through meaningful interactions and authentic content.

Measure, learn and improve

  • Define meaningful success metrics for each platform.
  • Produce insightful reporting that goes beyond likes and follower counts.
  • Share learnings across the wider business and use audience insights to continuously improve performance.
  • Act as our internal expert on social trends, platform developments and emerging opportunities.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience managing and growing organic social media channels for a consumer-facing brand.
  • Experience within a DTC ecommerce business or premium retail environment.
  • Strong content creation skills, particularly across short-form video and social-first content.
  • Experience building engaged online communities.
  • Confidence working with influencers, creators and partnership opportunities.
  • Familiarity with social analytics platforms (Sprout Social experience is a bonus).
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work across multiple teams.

Desirable

  • A genuine interest in spirits, drinks or wider food and drink culture.
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
  • Experience managing multiple brands and adapting tone of voice for different audiences.

About you

You're proactive, curious and full of ideas. You don't wait for permission to make things better.

You care deeply about quality and detail, but you're equally comfortable working at pace and getting great content out into the world.

You enjoy collaborating with others, celebrating team success and bringing energy and creativity to everything you do.

Most importantly, you're excited by the challenge of building communities, telling stories and helping one of the UK's most loved drinks brands continue to grow.
