Life at UiPath

The people at UiPath believe in the transformative power of automation to change how the world works. We’re committed to creating category-leading enterprise software that unleashes that power.

To make that happen, we need people who are curious, self-propelled, generous, and genuine. People who love being part of a fast-moving, fast-thinking growth company. And people who care—about each other, about UiPath, and about our larger purpose.

Could that be you?

Your mission

This is one of the most exciting problems in applied AI right now: take the cutting edge of machine learning, optimisation, and agentic systems, and make it work inside real businesses — not in a lab, but on live customer problems where the answer has to hold up commercially.

As a Forward Deployed Scientist I, in our Supply Chain & Retail business, you’ll work directly with some of the world’s biggest retailers and manufacturers on hard, high-stakes problems: demand forecasting, price and promotion optimisation, and supply-chain decisioning. You’ll own the science end-to-end — from understanding a customer’s messy reality to shipping something that changes how they operate.

And you won’t just deliver. What you learn on the front line feeds directly back into the products we build, so you’re shaping the capability the whole business runs on — not just solving one problem at a time.

What you'll do at UiPath

  • Own customer engagements end-to-end — frame the problem, build the solution, and drive it to real commercial impact, working directly alongside customer teams.

  • Apply and adapt frontier ML, forecasting, and optimisation techniques — and increasingly agentic AI — to problems that don’t have a textbook answer.

  • Turn what works on the ground into product direction, so each engagement makes our core capability better for the next customer.

  • Operate with genuine autonomy across a wide range of stakeholders — from data scientists to customer executives — and make the judgment calls that get things shipped.

  • Stay at the edge of what’s possible in applied AI, and bring it back to the team.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Strong track record applying ML / data science to real-world commercial problems, ideally with depth in forecasting, optimisation, or supply-chain / pricing.

  • The instinct to own outcomes, not tasks — you take an ambiguous problem and drive it to a result rather than waiting to be told the next step.

  • Fluent programming (Python and SQL) and the ability to pick up whatever a problem demands.

  • Excellent communication — you can take a customer executive from confusion to confidence, and explain a complex model to a non-technical room.

  • Comfort with ambiguity, direct customer contact, and the pace of a team that ships.

  • Bonus: experience with agentic / LLM-based systems, or building ML in production.

Who thrives here

We’re looking for builders — smart, switched-on people who want to be handed a genuinely hard real-world challenge and go to town on it. If you want to work at the frontier of applied AI, own something that matters, and see your work land with real customers and shape a product, this is for you.

Maybe you don’t tick all the boxes above—but still think you’d be great for the job? Go ahead, apply anyway. Please. Because we know that experience comes in all shapes and sizes—and passion can’t be learned.

Many of our roles allow for flexibility in when and where work gets done. Depending on the needs of the business and the role, the number of hybrid, office-based, and remote workers will vary from team to team. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis and there is no fixed deadline for this requisition. The application window may change depending on the volume of applications received or may close immediately if a qualified candidate is selected.

We value a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences and ideas. We pride ourselves on our diversity and inclusive workplace that provides equal opportunities to all persons regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, national origin, disability, neurodiversity, military and/or veteran status, or any other protected classes. Additionally, UiPath provides reasonable accommodations for candidates on request and respects applicants' privacy rights. To review these and other legal disclosures, visit our privacy policy.
