Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance. 

We are excited to be recruiting for an Administrator to work within our Retail Department on a full time, permanent contract. The hours are 6.00am to 2.00pm - 3 on/3 off - on £13.96 per hour.

Role Purpose:

To provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the Retail department, ensuring timely reporting, data integrity and effective record management. The Retail Admin will support operational performance by maintaining production information, monitoring key performance indicators, coordinating documentation and facilitating communication between departments to ensure the smooth running of retail operations.

  • Maintain accurate production, labour, yield and attendance records on a daily basis.
  • Input, update and validate data across business systems and spreadsheets.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly operational reports and KPI summaries.
  • Ensure all production paperwork is completed accurately, filed correctly and retained in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support stock reconciliation processes and investigate discrepancies as required.
  • Assist management with labour reporting, absence tracking and performance data.
  • Create and maintain departmental trackers, logs and administrative records.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Technical, Engineering, HR and Finance teams to ensure information is communicated accurately and efficiently.
  • Support audit preparation by ensuring required documentation is readily available and up to date.
  • Monitor departmental consumables and raise purchase requisitions when required.
  • Always maintain confidentiality of business and employee information.
  • Challenge inaccuracies and follow up outstanding information to ensure data integrity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Provide administrative cover and support to other departments when required.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.

  • Strong administration and record-keeping skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of using various systems and databases
  • Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn
