
Baker - Full-time Position with Benefits COBS Bread Welland
We are continuing to grow and are searching for two (2) Full-time Bakers who are looking for the next challenge in their careers to grow with us. The COBS Bread brand has been built on our commitment to the quality of our product, the development of our people and the delight which the combination of these two elements brings to our customers.
Compensation starts at $22/hour (higher depending on experience). Must be able to work weekends including at least one Saturday or Sunday every week and Statutory Holidays. Must be able to commit to work 32 -40 hours/week. We bake 7 days a week, 365 days a year and do not have any Monday-Friday only positions available. You must be able to work weekends.

As a Baker at COBS Bread, you will:
- Work with other Bakers, the Baking Team manager and the Production Manager to ensure the bread quality and range is to COBS Bread standards and delivered on time to meet customer demands.
- Maintain the safety of staff and customers by upholding the COBS Bread brand and standards.
- Be assigned an initial designated area of responsibility (Bowl, Bench, or Ovens) and will cross-functionally train and learn all three areas.
- Assist with stock rotation.
- Provide delightful customer service.
- Provide support to the whole bakery team, demonstrate team work and foster good working relationships.
- Candidates with previous experience in baking will receive first consideration and is preferred although it is not essential as we offer full training
- Oven management experience is valued but not required.
- Preference given to those with College Diploma in Bakery and Pastry Arts - or working towards completion of program
- Candidates must have their own transportation as their is no public transit at 3 am.
- Candidates should be willing to work overnight or early morning shifts, as a COBS Bread baker starts work between midnight and 4am and works weekends and stat holidays.
- Candidates must be able to lift 25kg waist high and up to 12kg head high.
- Valid Food Safety Course and/or First Aid Training Certificate is valued but not required
- Only non-smoker / non-vaping candidates will be considered
- Candidates will be asked to perform a DOT (Demonstration of Talent)
- While you are being hired to work at the new Welland location, training will be done at the St.Catharines location and you may be asked to help in either location if needed.
