Our teams deliver actionable insight that helps clients manage risk, make informed decisions and achieve meaningful operational impact where it matters most.
Our shared mission is to deliver unrelenting excellence in everything we do, underpinned by integrity, curiosity, accountability and care.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager to lead the end-to-end bid process across our business units, playing a key role in securing new business and supporting our continued growth.
This is a strategic and highly collaborative role, requiring excellent project management skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business. You will manage multiple concurrent bids and competing priorities, ensuring proposals are delivered to a consistently high standard, on time and in line with client requirements.
You will bring a proven track record of managing successful bids across public sector and commercial environments, with the ability to introduce structure, pace and best practice to our growing bid function.
Beyond individual bids, you will help strengthen our overall bid capability by improving understanding of the bid process, sharing best practice and supporting a consistent approach across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the end-to-end bid lifecycle, from RFIs and PQQs through to ITTs, ITNs, RFPs and RFQs, ensuring effective governance and application of bid best practice.
- Mentor and support junior members of the team, providing guidance, knowledge sharing and opportunities for development to build confidence and capability.
- Manage multiple concurrent bids, ensuring timelines, milestones, resources and deliverables are effectively coordinated.
- Develop clear bid strategies and win themes aligned to client requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and subject matter experts, ensuring high-quality contributions are delivered on time.
- Review and interpret tender documentation, identifying key requirements, risks, opportunities and areas for differentiation.
- Work collaboratively with Commercial, Operations, Technical, Finance, Legal and Marketing teams to develop compelling and commercially strong proposals.
- Ensure all submissions are accurate, compliant, high quality and aligned with Prevail’s brand and proposition.
- Lead bid reviews and quality assurance processes, challenging content where required to strengthen submissions.
- Maintain and continuously improve bid processes, templates, content libraries and best practice across the business.
- Lead post-bid reviews, capturing lessons learned and identifying opportunities to improve future bids and win rates.
- Provide regular updates on bid progress, risks, priorities and resource requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' experience in bid management, with a demonstrable track record of successfully managing and winning complex bids.
- Experience managing bids within regulated, public sector, defence, or government procurement environments and commercial environments.
- Strong understanding of government and public sector procurement processes.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent bids and complex stakeholder groups.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, persuasive and compelling content.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand client requirements and develop effective win strategies.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts across different functions.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- APMP certification or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable but not essential where a track record of proven success can be demonstrated.
