About the role:
Keywords Studios is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Privacy Manager to join its Global Privacy & AI Governance team, reporting directly to the Global Head of Privacy & AI Governance. This is a high-impact global role on our legal team that will lead our Privacy Operations function while driving key elements of our Global Privacy & AI Governance program across 70+ studios in 25+ countries.
As a key member of our Global Privacy & AI Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering data protection and responsible AI practices across our global service lines, collaborating with all levels of stakeholders and directly managing and mentoring our Privacy Manager and Senior Privacy Analyst. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with the Global Head of Privacy & AI Governance and our Privacy & AI Counsel in implementing and managing privacy and AI governance operational workflows, providing strategic guidance on privacy and AI laws and regulations, and working closely with senior leaders to identify and mitigate business risk.
Additionally, you will oversee day to day data protection and privacy matters across all business units and act as a registered Data Protection Officer (DPO) in certain jurisdictions where needed. This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and AI use in all of Keywords Studios' operations. It also offers the flexibility to work remotely from the UK or EU, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders globally.

Key Requirements
Team Leadership & Operations
- Take a leadership role in developing and implementing core elements of the Global Privacy & AI Governance Framework at Keywords Studios, deputising for the Global Head of Privacy & AI Governance as appropriate.
- Directly line manage and mentor the Privacy Operations team (Privacy Manager and Senior Privacy Analyst), including by overseeing daily intake triage, operational SLAs, and workflow efficiency.
AI Governance & Privacy by Design
- Manage Privacy by Design and AI in products, services and external tooling, including leading the delivery of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), AI Impact Assessments and software intake reviews.
- Lead efforts to embed Privacy by Design and ethical AI guardrails into service lines and internal workflows across Keywords Studios, delivering pragmatic, hands-on solutions.
- Identify the need for and execute Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) to support lawful global data transfers and processing.
Risk, Compliance & Incident Management
- Make independent recommendations on complex privacy and operational AI matters, managing the end-to-end life cycle of privacy and AI risk, including responding to day-to-day enquiries from the business and providing timely, risk-based advice on privacy and AI matters.
- Manage data subject requests and data incidents including leading activities to contain, investigate, remediate and mitigate incidents.
- Monitor the global data protection and AI regulatory horizon, complete regulatory gap analyses on forthcoming data protection and AI regulations, and respond to data protection-related consultations.
Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, AI Strategy, and Information Security teams to ensure alignment of privacy and AI practices across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and leaders of business functions, to drive privacy and AI initiatives and gain buy-in for necessary changes.
- Lead privacy and AI awareness and education for employees at all levels of the organisation.
Key Qualifications/ Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in privacy management, demonstrating continued progression.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
- Demonstrated ability and interest to mentor and lead junior team members.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong delivery focus, reaching risk-based decisions efficiently and effectively to drive projects forward.
- IAPP qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM and AIGP are a bonus.
- Extensive knowledge of GDPR and other relevant global privacy regulations.
- Developing knowledge of the EU AI Act and other relevant global AI regulations, as well as technical understanding of how AI systems / LLMs operate and key risks associated with these.
- Experience liaising with C-Level stakeholders.
- Experience working on cross-functional projects.
- Outstanding subject matter expertise with the ability to provide hands-on support, advice, and practical (SMART) recommendations for managing privacy.
- Willingness to travel, if required.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex privacy and AI matters into simple insights and advice.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify workflow improvements.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn multiple sets of policies/processes quickly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
